PRODUCT NEWS - EZ00 - Small Scale (Z & N) Steam & Diesel Locomotives
Bright constant-intensity headlights for N Scale steam locomotives and Z Scale diesels are available
from Richmond Controls. Examples in N Scale include the Atlas Shay, Model Power 4-4-0, and
Micro-Ace/Atlas Mogul. Examples in Z Scale include many of the diesels made by AZL. A special
version of the EZ00 module is available for each of these locomotives, and the module is made to fit
the specific locomotive.
In the N Scale steam locomotives, generally a Golden White surface mount LED can be inserted
directly into the headlight fixture. The EZ00 module is then located in some convenient location on
the locomotive.
In Z Scale diesels, it generally has worked best to mount a dual Golden White surface mount LED
behind the headlight holes. The EZ00 module can then usually be located at the other end of the
locomotive.
Prices vary according to how many LEDs are supplied and how many directions of operation are
desired. Typically, prices range between $24.00 for the simplest modules and $40.00 for the most
complex modules. All modules are made to order, and are generally not in stock for rapid shipment.
We STRONGLY recommend using Pacer’s Formula 560 Canopy Glue to secure these LEDs in
position. If your local retailer doesn’t carry this ZAP product, Richmond Controls is usually prepared
to furnish single bottles for $5.00 each.
