OBITUARY
Dear Rotarians, Fellowship friends and Cyclists,
As you all may have learned about in the meantime, on
Thursday March 3rd our President Niko Endres passed away as
a result of a tragic car accident on the motorway near his
hometown Wangen in Germany.
On behalf of the FCS membership we would like to extend our
most sincere condolences to Niko’s family and loved ones.
In spite of this very sad news, the Fellowship's affairs will
continue.
To continue the work of our splendid organization FCS, the
board had to choose one of them to take over the activities as
an interim chair until the fellowship is ready to elect a new
chair.
The decision of the Executive Board is that our treasurer, Jaap
Nagtegaal will act as the interim chair for the coming months.
At the next annual FCS Assembly during the 4-days cycling
from 18 – 22 May in Diemelsee we hope to be able to elect our
new FCS President.
In this case we call up all our National Representatives to think
about accomplishing this task within our organization. The
coming weeks we will approach some candidates to nominate
themselves for this beautiful post within our fellowship.

members of the board.

It is with deep regret that we have to inform you on the passing
away of our FCS President Niko Endres.
Niko was a member of the Rotaryclub Wangen-Isny-Leutkirch in
Germany since 1987 and was Club President in 2004-2005.
Niko was cycling since childhood but was more a pleasure
cyclist than a competitor.
Since more than 20 years Niko was an early member of the FCS
and attended for the first time the FCS 4-days cycling in Koblenz
in 1992. It is almost certain that Niko has never missed an FCS
event in all the years as member of our fellowship.
With his club he was responsible for the organisation of the WC
in 2003 in Wangen and he also organized a 4-days event in the
year 1998.
Beside the regular events in Europe he attended also other
Rotary events such as the Polio ride Vladivostoc-Scheveningen
in 2003, the Centennial Ride Amsterdam-Chicago in 2005 and
later on the Bridging People Rome-Mecca in 2009 and finally in
2011 the return trip Amman/Mecca-Rome.
As you all know Niko was a very pleasant and popular person
within the Fellowship and he knew everybody from his long
involvement.
As the National Representative for Germany (2004-2009) he
build up the membership from that country and Germany has
always had a very active involvement in the Fellowship.
After 3 years as vice-president, he became FCS President for
the years 2012 - 2016 a post he was delighted to accept and
which he thoroughly enjoyed.
Rotary was one of the greatest enrichments of his private life
and cycling with friends for him was the GREATEST.
We pass along our thoughts and prayers to his family and we'll
never forget him.

FCS ANNUAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY
2016 WORLD CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIP IN LUXEMBOURG
9, 10, AND 11TH OF SEPTEMBER 2016.
A dream comes true:
After the memorable FCS 4 Days Event in Luxembourg in May
2006, many FCS presidents and numerous rotary friends
pushed me to organize the second yearly event, which is the
FCS World Championship, in my home country.
During his visit last November, the FCS President Niko Endres
had approved with me, the excellent race conditions on the
Good-Year Proving Ground at Colmarberg.
Early March this year, Niko was sadly killed on the highway
while offering help to the victims of a dramatic traffic accident.
After this cruel shock, losing the head of our organisation, it
was difficult for all of us to find our way to continue to serve
the noble cause of our Fellowship.
But the organising committee thought "YES WE MUST" .and
decided to dedicate this Luxembourg World Cycling
Championship for Rotarians to our good friend NIKO.
In this spirit, we invite you all, dear cycling friends, to the 32nd
FCS World Cycling Championship. We are ready to welcome
you in our lovely homeland of Luxembourg the 9, 10, and 11th
of September 2016.
My sincere thanks go to all active participants, to Good-Year
for offering the racing track, to the members of my Rotary
Club Luxembourg Vallées, to all supporters, sponsors, helpers
and to everyone who will contribute, in any way, to the
success of this event.

On Friday the 20th of May 2016, the Annual General Assembly
of FCS will be held in Diemelsee (D).
The meeting will start at 17:00 Hrs, venue to be confirmed.
In accordance with the FCS Constitution, Article 4.4, FCS
Members are kindly invited to attend the Annual General
Assembly 2016.

NECROLOGIE
DE LA PART DU COMITE EXECUTIF DU FCS
Chers rotariens, amis cyclistes de notre Amicale,
Comme vous l’avez tous appris ces derniers jours, notre
Président Niko Endres est décédé le jeudi 3 mars dernier d’un
tragique accident sur autoroute, survenu très près de son
domicile de Wangen en Allemagne.
Au nom de tous les membres de l’Amicale, nous aimerions
apporter nos plus sincères condoléances à la famille de Niko
ainsi qu’à tous ses proches.
Afin de continuer à travailler pour notre merveilleuse
organisation, le comite exécutive a eu à choisir un des siens
comme Président par intérim pour prendre en charge les
activités en cours, jusqu’à l’élection du prochain Président ;
Le Comite a ainsi décidé de confier cette mission pour les mois
à venir à notre trésorier Jaap Nagtegaal.
Lors de notre prochaine Assemblée annuelle de l’Amicale FCS,
qui se tiendra pendant les 4 jours FCS à Diemelsee (du 18 au
22 mai 2016), nous espérons pouvoir choisir notre nouveau
Président.
Dans cette optique, nous appelons solennellement nos
Représentants Nationaux à envisager une candidature à la
fonction. Dans les prochaines semaines, nous ne manquerons
pas de nous rapprocher de certains afin qu’ils envisagent à se
présenter à cette fonction au sein de notre Amicale.
Si vous êtes intéressé, faites le savoir auprès d’un membre du
Board.

C’est avec un profond regret que nous vous informons du
décès de notre Président de l’Amicale FCS Niko Endres.
Niko était membre du Rotary Club Wangen-Isny-Leutkirch en
Allemagne depuis 1987, club dont il avait été président en
2004-2005.
Niko faisait du vélo depuis son enfance mais privilégiait le vélo
plaisir à la compétition.
Depuis plus de 20 ans, Niko avait été un des premiers
membres du FCS et participait à ses premiers 4 Jours FCS à
Coblence en 1992. Il est quasiment certain que Niko, en
qualité de membre FCS, n’a jamais manqué le moindre
évènement FCS depuis cette date.
Avec son club, il a organisé les Championnats du Monde
rotariens en 2003 à Wangen, après y avoir organisé les 4 Jours
en 1998.
Outre les évènements récurrents qui se déroulent en Europe,
Niko avait participé à d’autres évènements rotariens comme la
Polio Ride Vladivostok-Scheveningen en 2003, à la Centennial
Ride Amsterdam-Chicago du centenaire en 2005 puis, plus tard
en 2009 au ‘Bridging People’ entre Rome et la Mecque, et
enfin en 2011 au voyage retour Amman/La Mecque-Rome.
Comme vous le saviez tous, Niko était quelqu’un de très
chaleureux, quelqu’un de charismatique au sein de l’Amicale
et il connaissait chacun d’entre nous de par son long
engagement.
En tant que Représentant de pour l’Allemagne (2004-2009), il
a développé le nombre de membres dans son pays, pays qui
est devenu très actif au sein de l’Amicale.
Vice-président pendant 3 ans, il est devenu Président du FCS
de 2012 à 2016, un poste dont il accepta la charge avec
bonheur et rayonnement.
Le Rotary faisait partie des grands enrichissements de sa vie
personnelle mais faire du vélo avec ses amis était
certainement le plus GRAND.
Nous transmettons nos pensées et prières à sa famille. Nous
ne pourrons jamais l’oublier.

4 Jours 2016 au Diemelsee du 18 au 22 mai 2016

Nous vous invitons à nos 4 Jours au Diemelsee du 18 au 22 mai
2016. De beaux paysages et de belles routes agréables vous
attendent à Waldeck-Frankenberg. La région autour du
Diemelsee, qui va de Willingen, à Marsberg en passant par
Korbach est exceptionnelle pour pratiquer le vélo – bosses et
dénivelés garantis !
Nous espérons que la photo sur notre page d’accueil vous
donnera envie, notamment de découvrir nos vert, jaune et
bleu couleurs de printemps.
Notre projet est de construire
une aire de repos sur la piste
cyclable qui va de Korbach à Bad
Arolsen. Le temps avance, n’hésitez pas à vous inscrire

CHAMPIONNATS DU MONDE CYCLISTES, LES 9, 10 ET 11
SEPTEMBRE 2016 AU LUXEMBOURG.
Un rêve se réalise : après les mémorables 4 Jours FCS organisé
au Luxembourg en 2006, de nombreux présidents du FCS mais
aussi nombre d’amis rotariens m’ont poussé d’organiser notre
second évènement annuel, à savoir les championnats du
monde, dans mon pays.
Au cours de sa visite en novembre dernier, le Président du FCS,
Niko Endres s’est félicité des excellentes conditions pour la
course, sur la piste d’essai Good-Year à Colmarberg.
En mars, Niko a été tristement tué sur l’autoroute alors qu’il
portait secours à des victimes d’un autre accident de
circulation. Après cette perte cruelle et dramatique, après
avoir perdu la tête de notre organisation, il nous a été un
instant difficile de nous remettre dans le sens de l’organisation
à servir notre cause de l’Amicale.
Mais le Comité d’organisation s’est dit « YES WE MUST » et
nous avons décidé de dédier ce championnat du monde
rotarien au Luxembourg à notre très grand ami NIKO.
Dans cet esprit, nous vous invitons tous, chers amis cyclistes,
aux 32èmes Championnats du Monde FCS. Nous sommes prêts
à vous accueillir dans notre adorable Luxembourg les 9,10 et
11 septembre 2016. Mes sincères remerciements à tous les
participants, à Good-Year pour nous offrir son circuit, aux
membres de mon Club Rotary Luxembourg Vallées, à tous nos
soutiens, sponsors, bénévoles et à tous ceux qui
contribueront, à leur échelle, au succès de cet évènement.

FCS se tiendra au Diemelsee (Allemagne).
La réunion débutera à 17H00, salle de réunion à confirmer.
