Previous work by others (L.Cavey) on portions of the current
Mord Property show the presence of intercalated mafic and felsic
volcanics that are extensively sheared and metamorphosed. These
metavolcanics have been intruded by both felsic (granitic) and
mafic (gabbro) rock types.
All of the aforementioned rocks have in turn been cut by a
swarm of late diabase dikes.
WORK PERFORMED 5 RESULTS;
Work performed on the property consisted of prospecting;
mechanical stripping (backhoe); plugger holes/blasting/sampling/
assaying; linecutting of a control grid; and a VLF-EM Survey.
(a) Mechanical Stripping;

A backhoe mounted on a timber-jack was used for stripping
overburden/trenching in four areas (Pit Nos. 1-4) where previous
work during 1990-91 had shown the presence of sulphide mineral
ization (mainly pyrite, disseminated magnetite) and/or a coincident
Magnetic/VLF-EM anomaly (Pit *3 5 *4).
Extensive overburden cover previously had prevented 3 currently
hamper the adequate evaluation of these geologically-favourable
areas. A number of the trenches did not reach bedrock over the
full extent of the targeted areas.
The average dimensions of the trenches were 2.0 metres in width
and 2.4 metres deep in overburden.
Refer to the accompanying maps for details as to location 5
trench lengths et cetera.
(b) Plugger Drilling/Blasting;
Plugger drilling/blasting was subsequently completed in four
trenches where the backhoe had reached bedrock. The average depth
of these pits blasted (Pit Nos. 1-4) was 1.2 metres.
A total of 225 plugger holes, aggregate length of 450 ft.,were
completed.

Table Re Plugger Drilling" that follows for details.

A total of 44 representative bedrock grab samples were taken
from the four pits blasted and were subsequently examined by this
writer. Rock sample descriptions are attached as an Appendix to
this report.
The main rock types in the pits/trenches are mafic metavolcanics
(flows, tuff, schist); gabbro; diabase dikes; and cross-cutting
quartz veins/stringers. The main sulphide minerals present are
pyrite 5 magnetite (abundant in places).
A total of 17 grab samples taken from the aforementioned pits were
sent for analysis of their copper, nickel, zinc, gold, platinum, and
palladium content. Three samples from Pit *3 returned anomalous
copper values (680-1800 ppm) associated with quartz veins; and prob
ably represents the presence of minor, disseminated chalcopyrite min
eralization. One sample from Pit fi returned anomalous nickel values
(660 ppm) associated with a mafic tuff (?)Xhighly sheared gabbro. All
other samples returned very low (background) values for Cu,Ni S Zn.
In all samples assayed the Au, Pt 5 Pd values were nil. The locations
of these samples are shown on an accompanying "Localized Sketch Map"
that shows (to scale) the individual trenches/pits.
(d) Linecutting of Control Grid:
A control grid of picket lines was established over the three
northwesterly claims (4 Units) during the period Dec. 23/92 to
Jan. 12/93. A number of lines crossed over the ice on two lakes.
An east-west-bearing Base Line was cut from 4W to 3+40E (740
metres); and eight crosscutting north-south-bearing lines were cut
at 100-metre spacings. Stations were established at 25-metre in
tervals on each line by hip-chaining (J flagging.
Lines cut had an aggregate length of 7.35 kilometres.
(e) VLF-EM Survey;
Concomitant with the linecutting/chaining; Mr. Mord conducted
a VLF-EM Survey over the control grid. The instrument used was
a Geonics EM-16 Unit, the Transmitter Station was NAA, Cutler,
Maine; and all readings were taken facing grid-north.
The VLF-EM Survey detected a number of weak to strong conductive
zones (designated as "A" to "G" inclusive. The strongest conductors
were found within or adjacent to lakes and are considered to be due
to conductive lake bottom sedimerits/overdurden and thus are of no
economic interest. The causes of the other (weaker) conductors is
currently unknown but appear to represent northeast-trending fault/
shear zones.
