Job nature: The incumbent is accountable for the
efficient organization, development and control of the
General Accounting functions covering the accounts
payables, costing, fixed assets, payroll and accounts
receivable.

Reporting to the General accounting superintendent, the Chief accountant will have about 4
direct reports as this position has the primary responsibility of all general accounting matter.

Regular task
This is to be maintained under IFRS as well as Malagasy
GAAP (PCG 2005) including Malagasy tax accounting.
-Accrual month end process
This will cover the books of all the legal entities operating
-Foreign Exchange reevaluation month
under the group in Madagascar. .

The incumbent will be responsible for working -General ledger balance sheet account
independently under the instruction of the General reconciliation
Accounting Superintendent to achieve milestones and -Month end payroll upload and
goals in performing various projects covering accounts reconciliation
payables, fixed assets and general accounting processes. -Annual Financial Audit Malagasy
This will cover the books of all the legal entities Accounting principal (PGC2005)
operating under the group in Madagascar. .

This involves following policies and procedures and
monitoring and controlling activities, to achieve
maximum efficiency, accuracy and meet the Company’s
reporting and financial requirements.

To successfully achieve the requirements of the
position. The incumbent must be thoroughly familiar
with accounting principles and practices. A professional
accounting qualification is also highly preferable.

The incumbent must also have good management skills
particularly in the area of human relations and planning
and scheduling.

The ability to work independently, analytical, detailoriented and responsible are very important skills in his
post.

The incumbent deals will all areas of the accounting
department.

A major challenge of the position is to follow up all
accounting issues and resolve them in the proper time
frame. Again, the ability to work independently and to
provide solution is very significant.

An accounting designation (CMA, CGA, CA, DESCA) and 10 years of post designation experience in
a senior financial position.
Extensive knowledge and application of Malagasy GAAP, and requirements for accounting, cons,
financial statement preparation.
Good understanding of computerized accounting systems..
Good Malagasy tax knowledge and application.
Good relationship qualification
