The following wines are accessed by revolutionary preservation systems that ensure quality at every pour.
White
F.X. Pichler, Riesling, Loibner Loibenberg, Smaragd 2012 - Wachau, Austria
$29
Originally established in 1898, Pichler is one of the quintessential producers in the famed village of Wachau.
Located along the Danube, this specific vineyard site boasts nuances of juicy yellow peaches and mandarins
that are complemented by orange blossoms. On the palate, this Riesling is dry in style, but full in flavor.
Domaine de Marcoux, Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2013 - Rhône Valley, France$33
The Armenier family has been located in Châteauneuf-du-Pape since 1344. Unlike most white wines from this
area, which are blends based on Grenache Blanc, Marcoux utilizes Roussanne and Bourboulenc instead from
vines averaging 40 years old, showing notes of ripe clementine and honeysuckle with a concentrated finish.
Domaine François Mikulski, Meursault 2012 - Burgundy, France
$38
Domaine Mikulski is a relative newcomer to the region of Meursault, having only been established since 1992
after inheriting much of his estate from his uncle. He produces wines to showcase site specificity and this
bottling exhibits Bosc pear, a kiss of toast, and a full body.
Red
E. Guigal “Brune et Blonde de Guigal” - Cote Rotie 2011 - Rhône Valley, France$31
The history of the GUIGAL family reflects the glory of the wines of the Côte-Rôtie. Three generations
working with land over 24 centuries old. Spices, red berries and delicate oak aromas on the nose, round soft
tannins. Aromas of rasberry, blackberry and vanilla.
Poderi Aldo Conterno, Barolo 2009 - Piemonte, Italy $36
The farmhouse “Poderi Aldo Conterno” is situated in Bussia, in the village Monforte d’Alba, which is the very
heart of the typical Barolo wine area. The tannins are extremely fine, silky and polished. The wine excels at
presenting the fine and elegant details that the mighty Nebbiolo grape can offer.
Château Giscours, Margaux 2009 - Bordeaux, France
$42
Giscours has a long history that dates back to the 14th century, but initially as a military tower. Vines were
first planted in 1552 and about 300 years later, the château was classified as a 3rd Growth in the famed 1855
Classification of the Médoc. This is a fine example of classic Margaux style: ripe dark fruits, elegant tannins,
and a refined texture.

Port
Port and England have had a long relationship that dates back to the 17th century when two Englishmen
went to the Douro Valley in Portugal and discovered the local wines. They sent these back to Liverpool
where they boomed in popularity. The basic categories are ruby and tawny. Rubies are dark berry and
chocolate driven in flavor, while tawnies have toffee and raisin notes from extensive oak aging.

Madeira
This island historically was the stop for ships heading to India and the New World to reload food, goods,
and most importantly wine. Madeira’s wines were fortified to withstand the long journey. However, the
barrels would cook in the hulls and this created the distinct caramelized Madeira flavor.

Alsace
Alsace has been the ball in the ping-pong match between France and Germany for centuries and while
it is now part of France, it has cultural influences from both countries. The Vosges Mountains separate
it from the rest of France and provide an incredible array of soil types that create amazing whites from
Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris, and Muscat.

Loire Valley
The major white grapes of the Loire Valley are Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, and Melon de Bourgogne.
They are grown on a wide variety of soils and terrains, but common factors between them are elevated
acidity, a dose of minerality, and a touch of funk.

Jura & Savoie
These regions lie south of Alsace and east of Burgundy along the border of Switzerland. Jura produces
wines that showcase unique winemaking and aging techniques (things can get weird) and Savoie
specializes in refreshing, crisp whites.

Rhône Valley Blanc
Although the vast majority of Rhône Valley wine is red, the region does create a small amount of exotic
whites. In the Northern Rhône, Viognier, Marsanne, and Roussanne are the primary grapes. In the
southern sector, Grenache Blanc usually dominates the blends and is rounded out with Marsanne
and Roussanne.

Germany’s vineyards are some of the most northerly and coolest in the world. Riesling is made in several
different styles from bone dry to honey-like sweet, and they make excellent food companions because of

In Austria, winemaking mostly occurs in the eastern part of the country, next to Hungary. Grüner
Veltliner and Riesling are the major grapes and they’re typically produced in dry styles. There’s a chance

Northern Rhône Valley
Syrah is planted here on steep, granitic slopes overlooking the Rhône River. These wines used to be taken
to Bordeaux to bulk up their blends. Happily, all the Syrah now stays in the Rhône to produce smoky,
meaty, violet-y red wines.

Germany
Besides Riesling, Germany creates some striking Pinot Noir, locally called Spätburgunder. It’s a great

VENETO
Located in northeastern Italy, Veneto makes the most wine out of all the Italian regions. The specialty
here is a red wine called Amarone. It is produced from grapes that have been partially dried on straw
mats. It’s a boozy wine not to be missed.

This region is located in southern Bordeaux and primarily grows Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc that are
affected by Noble Rot. This causes the grapes to dehydrate and concentrate their sugars, which results
in a deliciously honeyed dessert wine. You could say this is liquid gold.
