Rendez-vous majeur du monde francophone dans la lutte contre le VIH et les hépatites, la 8ème Conférence internationale francophone
AFRAVIH 2016 se tient à Bruxelles du 20 au 23 avril 2016. Organisée par l’Alliance francophone des acteurs de santé contre le VIH (AFRAVIH),
cette conférence constitue un véritable carrefour d’échanges scientifiques Nord/Sud sur ces deux thèmes de santé publique majeurs.
LES ENJEUX
La lutte contre le VIH et les hépatites doit faire face au développement des inégalités d’accès : à l’information, à la prévention et à la prise en charge thérapeutique.
Les difficultés vont croissant, pour les populations les plus fragiles, au plan social et économique, en particulier pour ceux que les guerres, les
politiques de répression et les crises socioéconomiques rejettent sur les chemins des migrations, loin des structures de soins, là où nous devons
porter nos regards et nos actions.
La synergie concertée des acteurs et des institutions internationales est impérative pour espérer vaincre, à terme, ces infections virales chroniques.
LES GRANDS THÈMES ET TEMPS FORTS DE LA CONFÉRENCE
Durant quatre jours, des conférences plénières, sessions orales, présentations de posters
permettront d’échanger autour de thématiques variées et d’actualité, notamment :
• Les dynamiques de l’épidémie du VIH dans l’espace francophone
• Stratégies thérapeutiques : perspectives
• Le VIH et les hépatites dans l’agenda du développement à l’horizon 2030
• Les antirétroviraux, outils de prévention
• Adolescents et VIH
• Rémission ou guérison ?
• Comorbidités ou polymorbidités ?
• Enjeux pour les hommes ayant des relations sexuelles avec des hommes au Nord et au Sud
• Coût et rapport coût-efficacité de la prise en charge VIH et hépatites
• Dépister et guérir : le nouveau paradigme des hépatites virales
A travers nos débats, qui se tiennent en langue française, la vision particulière de la communauté
francophone sur la santé mondiale résonnera du 20 au 23 avril 2016 à Bruxelles, et bien au-delà
grâce au partenariat que l’AFRAVIH a conclu avec La lettre de l’Infectiologue et VIH.org.

De 8e Internationale Franstalige conferentie AFRAVIH 2016 heeft van 20 tot 23 april 2016 in Brussel plaats. Deze conferentie, georganiseerd
door de « Alliance francophone des acteurs de santé contre le VIH » (AFRAVIH), is een belangrijke afspraak voor de Franstalige wereld in de strijd
tegen hiv en hepatitis. Noord en Zuid wisselen er wetenschappelijke informatie uit over deze twee belangrijke thema’s voor de volksgezondheid.
DE UITDAGINGEN
In de strijd tegen hiv en hepatitis worden we met een groeiende ongelijke toeganggeconfronteerd: ongelijke toegang tot informatie, preventie en therapeutische
behandelingen. De sociaal en economisch meest kwetsbare bevolkingsgroepen hebben het almaar moeilijker. Wij moeten vooral aandacht besteden aan zij die
oorlogen, repressie en sociaaleconomische crisissen ontvluchten en op hun migratieweg verstoken zijn van zorg.
Het is absoluut noodzakelijk dat alle betrokkenen en internationale organisaties hun krachten bundelen om deze ongelijkheden weg te werken en hopelijk op
termijn deze chronische virale infecties te overwinnen.

The 8th International Francophone Conference AFRAVIH 2016, to be held in Brussel from 20 to 23 April 2016, is a major meeting for the Frenchspeaking world active in the fight against HIV and hepatitis. Organised by AFRAVIH (Francophone Alliance of Healthcare Stakeholders against HIV), this
conference is a hub for scientific dialogue between the developed and the developing worlds on these two major public healthcare issues.
CHALLENGES
The fight against HIV and hepatitis faces increasing inequalities as regards access to information, prevention and treatment.
These difficulties are exacerbated for socially and economically disadvantaged populations, particularly those forced to flee war, repressive policies and socioeconomic crises, leaving them far from the reach of healthcare structures, and who deserve our particular attention.
If we hope to beat these chronic viral infections in the long term, it is essential that the different stakeholders and international institutions involved pool their
resources in order to forge effective synergies.
MAIN TOPICS AND HIGHLIGHTS OF THE CONFERENCE
Over four days, plenary sessions, concurrent oral sessions and poster sessions will foster dialogue on a variety of current issues, including:
