SERVICE FOR PROCESS ANALYSIS ‐ SAP
Head of department : Philippe Destrac ‐ [email protected]
Objectives:
•
To provide and develop analytical measurement for the research teams of the LGC and also for industrial partners.
•To train PhD students and researchers for the use of up‐to‐date equipment to obtain good quality measurements and preserve durability of the equipment.
•To develop a strategy for investment and maintenance to maintain high quality standards and to adapt to the evolution of research at LGC
To carry out our missions, we rely on a quality approach based under the ISO 9001.
SAP shortly …
Means of SAP :
The SAP is composed of 4 technical staff and a managing research engineer.
Equipment is located in 250 m² technical rooms (with temperature regulation).
Analytical methods available at the SAP :
•Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) •Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA))
•Surface and interfacial Tension (Wilhelmy Plate, pendant drop) •SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) ‐ EDX : LEO 435VP, TM3000
•chromatographic techniques (gas and liquid) •Rheology (AR2000Ex) •Porosity measurement for solids(ASAP 2010, AutoPore IV) •Determination of the density of solids (helium)
•ICP‐AES (Ultima2R) •Zeta Potential (Nanozs)
•Laser size measurements (MS 2000, MS 3000)
•Morphology of powders and emulsion
•Flowability and characterization of powders

The SAP is a shared platform open to academic and industrial world.
One of the characteristics of the SAP is to propose analytical services to external laboratories and to industrialists.
Collaboration with equipment suppliers such as Malvern has been developed for long now An investment strategy for new equipments
The SAP benefits from financial support from Conseil regional of the Midi‐Pyrenees Region and from European Union through FEDER funds.
This makes it possible to regularly invest in new equipment
Co‐financed by the CNRS and by internal funds LGC/SAP, this program recently led to acquisition of : •MEB‐FEG equiped of EDX sensor
•Surface analyser BET
•ATG‐FTIR
SEM (Scanning Electronic Microscope) image of an ascorbic acid particle (x1150) Programme co-financed by the European Union
