Vincent Damphousse a joué trois saisons dans la Ligue de hockey
junior majeur du Québec pour la concession de Laval.
Vincent Damphousse played three seasons in the Quebec Major
Junior Hockey League with the Laval franchise.
Au cours de sa carrière junior, il a récolté 109 buts et 214 mentions
d’aide pour un total de 323 points en 203 affrontements ; une
moyenne de 1,59 point par match.
During the course of his junior career, he collected 109 goals and
214 assists for a total of 323 points in 203 games; an average of
1.59 points per game.
Il a remporté la Coupe du Président dès sa première campagne
dans la LHJMQ.
He won the President Cup in his rookie season with the Laval
Voisins.
Il a inscrit 8 points dans un match en saison régulière à deux
reprises (1 but et 7 passes, le 25 février 1985 ; 3 buts et 5 passes, le
3 février 1986) et 7 points dans un match de séries éliminatoires à
une occasion (3 buts et 4 passes, le 13 avril 1986).
He twice recorded 8 points in a regular season game (1 goal
and 7 assists on February 25, 1985; 3 goals and 5 assists on
February 3, 1986) and 7 points in a playoff game once (3 goals
and 4 assists on April 13, 1986).
En 1985-86, il fut nommé sur la deuxième équipe d’étoiles.
Following the 1985-86 season, he was named a QMJHL secondteam All-Star.
En 1986, il fut choisi en première ronde (6 e au total) par les Maple
Leafs de Toronto à la séance de sélection de la Ligue nationale
de hockey.
Au cours de sa carrière de dix-huit saisons dans la LNH, il a
récolté 432 buts et 773 mentions d’aide pour un total de 1 205 points
en 1 378 parties en portant les couleurs de quatre formations : les
Maple Leafs de Toronto, les Oilers d’Edmonton, les Canadiens de
Montréal et les Sharks de San Jose.
Il a remporté la Coupe Stanley en 1993 avec les Canadiens de
Montréal et a été leur capitaine de 1996 à 1999.

In 1986, he was selected in the first round (6 th overall) by the
Toronto Maple Leafs at the National Hockey League Entry Draft.
During his eighteen NHL seasons, he collected 432 goals and
773 assists for a total of 1,205 points in 1,378 games with four
franchises: The Toronto Maple Leafs, the Edmonton Oilers, the
Montreal Canadiens and the San Jose Sharks.
He won the Stanley Cup in 1993 while playing with the Montreal
Canadiens and was the team captain from 1996 to 1999.
At the moment of his induction, he ranked tenth all-time in scoring
amongst former QMJHL players who went on to play in the NHL
(44 th overall).
