coup et cabriolets drives de berlines sont une tradition. Aprs les 203 et 403 cabriolets Peugeot fait appel pour la 404
Pininfarina, qui cre une carrosserie compltement diffrente de celle de la berline. Avec la 504 lance en 1968, le
constructeur de Sochaux suit la mme voie italienne, et il en rsulte une carrosserie dont l'lgance n'exclut pas une
certaine originalit, avec notamment quatre phares rectangulaires et des feux arrire inclins. La forme va voluer au
cours de la carrire de la voiture, mais elle conservera l'lgance du dessin initial. Selon l'actuel propritaire, ce cabriolet
504 a t vendu neuf Lrrach, en Allemagne. Sa propritaire possdant une rsidence secondaire en Espagne, Alicante,
elle y emmenait son cabriolet, voiture particulirement propice au climat ensoleill du sud. Il y a 17 ans, elle dcidait de
confier le cabriolet aux ateliers de notre collectionneur, pour une restauration totale. Malheureusement, elle ne
pourra dcouvrir la voiture termine car elle s'teint avant que les travaux ne soient achevs. Notre collectionneur en fait
l'acquisition auprs de la succession, en 1997. La voiture a bnfici d'une restauration approfondie, avec mise nu de la
caisse, peinture neuve, rfection de la sellerie en cuir et des moquettes. Les pare-chocs d'origine en plastique, jugs
peu lgants par le propritaire, ont t remplacs par les lments chroms des versions prcdentes, mais les pices d'origine
seront livres avec la voiture. Le moteur quatre-cylindres 2 litres, qui tourne trs bien, n'a ncessit qu'une simple rvision
accompagne d'un contrle gnral. Ce cabriolet 504 est sans doute un des plus beaux du march. Offrant une mcanique
prouve et une ligne lgante, il constitue un excellent choix pour rouler de faon alternative, tout en profitant du moindre

Following the 203 and 403 cabriolets, Peugeot called on Pininfarina for the 404, who created a body that was
completely different to the saloon. With the 504 launched in 1968, the manufacturer from Sochaux followed the same
Italian route, which resulted in an elegant yet original body, with four rectangular headlights and sloping tail lights.
The form evolved over the life of the car, while retaining the elegance of the original design. According to the current
owner, this 504 cabriolet was sold new in Lrrach, Germany. The owner had a second home in Spain, in Alicante, and
took the car there, as it was perfectly suited to the sunny southern climate. Some 17 years ago, she decided to send
the cabriolet to our collector's workshop for a thorough restoration. Sadly, she never saw the car finished, as she
died before the work was completed. Our collector acquired the car from the estate in 1997. The car has been totally
restored, with the body stripped and re-painted, the leather upholstery and carpets refurbished. The original plastic
bumpers, deemed to be inelegant by the owner, were replaced with chrome ones from the previous model, but the
original bumpers will be supplied with the car. The 2-litre four-cylinder engine, which turns over well, simply requires
servicing and a general inspection. This 504 cabriolet is undoubtedly one of the finest on the market. With proven
mechanics and elegant styling, this car provides an opportunity to drive something slightly different, with the chance
