The p r o p e r t y i s u n d e r l a i n by g r a n o d i o r i t e of t h e Coast
I n t r u s i o n s . On t h e A c l a i m a n e a r h o r i z o n t a l q u a r t z v e i n of
average width 12" and l e n g t h 65' c u t s g r a n o d i o r i t e and dykes
of q u a r t z d i o r i t e and q u a r t z o r t h o c l a s e porphyry. A p o r t i o n
of t h e v e i n where i t c u t s a 15-foot wide q u a r t z d i o r i t e dyke
c o n t a i n e d s e v e r a l s m a l l p o c k e t s of f r e e g o l d and a s s o c i a t e d
s u l p h i d e s of s i l v e r , mainly s t e p h a n i t e . Assays from t h e v e i r
gave o n l y a t r a c e of gold.
On t h e B c l a i m a q u a r t z v e i n a v e r a g i n g about 2.5' wide
d i p s 30-40°SE.
Locally t h e vein is w e l l mineralized w i t h
p y r i t e , s p h a l e r i t e and g a l e n a . A channel sample a c r o s s 2'
assayed 0.10 o z / t Au, 1 . 7 3 o z / t Ag, 0.67% Pb. Assays from
o t h e r s e c t i o n s of t h e v e i n gave only a t r a c e of g o l d - s i l v e r .

The p r o p e r t y i s l o c a t e d a t a b o u t 3,200' e l e v a t i o n on t h e
w e s t s i d e of t h e r i d g e e x t e n d i n g s o u t h from t h e summit of
Mount T h o r n h i l l , some 6 m i l e s e a s t - s o u t h e a s t of T e r r a c e .
The Lucky Seven, Diamond and Beaver claims were owned by
A. Oleson and W. Dahl from 1914 o r e a r l i e r . I n about 1917
t h e y recovered some $4,000 i n g o l d i n two weeks by m o r t a r i n g
and panning s e v e r a l s m a l l h i g h g r a d e p o c k e t s of f r e e g o l d .
By 1918 t h e p r o p e r t y was expanded t o 5 c l a i m s , i n c l u d i n g t h e
Ruby and Pedro. Work i n open c u t s and s e v e r a l a d i t s
continued i n t o 1920. The a d j a c e n t E, F , G , H group, owned i n
1918 by a T e r r a c e s y n d i c a t e , w a s developed by a '73' c r o s s c u t
and 1 7 ' d r i f t a d i t .
I n 1921 t h e p r o p e r t y was under bond t o J. Ronan from M r .
Dahl and t h e Oleson E s t a t e . C o n s i d e r a b l e work was done on
t h e Diamond claim.
The showings were r e s t a k e d i n about 1922 by M r . Dahl as
t h e Beaver, S t a r , F i s h e r and Golden Lady c l a i m s . I n 1923
t h e p r o p e r t y was o p t i o n e d by O.P. Brown, who r e p r e s e n t e d t h e
Chiro Mining Company, of S e a t t l e , and s u b s e q u e n t l y t h e
Northern Mining and Development Company, a l s o of S e a r t l e A
s h o r t a d i t was d r i v e n i n about 1926.
The showings were r e s t a k e d a s t h e A and B claims by
Verner Roy, of T e r r a c e , i n about 1928. The claims were under
o p t i o n i n 1933 and one of t h e a d i t s was extended and widened
i n s e a r c h f o r a d d i t i o n a l p o c k e t s of high-grade gold. The
workings a t t h a t time i n c l u d e d about 50' of underground work
i n two a d i t s on t h e upper showings (A claim) and some 145' of
d r i f t s and c r o s s c u t s i n two a d i t s on t h e lower showings ( 0
claim) ( o l d E , F, G , H group ? )
The a r e a was r e s t a k e d as t h e Thorn 3 and 5 claims (40
u n i t s ) f o r S e a s t a r Resource C o r p o r a t i o n i n 1984; p r e l i m i n a r y
geochemical sampling was c a r r i e d o u t .
