9 Practical information
1) Your venue to Lille
From the map on page 7, you can see that hotel Lille Europe is situated in between Lille Flandres
station and Lille Europe station. It is very easy to find along the recent Euralille Center. A few
participants that are not at Hotel Lille Europe will be contacted separately.
If you arrive by flight from CDG Airport, here is some information to reach the CDG-TGV station
from where you shall have your train to Lille. From Terminals 1 or 3, you need to take the free
channel CDGVAL and get out at stop "Terminal 2 Gare TGV". If you arrive at Terminal 2, you
can reach the station on foot (except from Terminal 2G, from which you need to take a bus)
Then, once in the station, go at level 2 if you need to buy or print your ticket (at a big yellow
automatic ticket machine or from a salesman at a ticket office desk). Platforms are at Level 1.
10 2) MESHS (Maison européenne des sciences de l’homme et de la société)
The summer school will take place in Espace Baïetto, at MESHS, which is located 2, rue des
Canonniers - 59000 LILLE.
Is is situated in between the two train stations, two minutes by walk from Hotel Lille Europe.
When you enter the MESHS, espace Baïetto is at the left of the building.
3) Registration
In order to avoid registering all the participants Monday morning at the MESHS, you can register
at Hotel Lille Europe on your arrival Sunday 2d, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Registration will take
place at First floor of the Hotel. On Monday (and the days after), registration takes place at
MESHS (from 8:30 to 9:00 on Monday).
4) Restaurants
There are plenty of restaurants, estaminets and pubs in Lille. It is not possible to give a selection.
Most of the more typical restaurants (either for regional or traditional food) are located around
Grande Place and in the Vieux Lille, especially rue de la Collégiale and rue de Gand.
The local organizing committee whishes you a pleasant summer school in Lille
