Legal Network Television
(LNTV) is the in-house
production facility of The
College of Law, Britain’s
leading provider of training and education for
firms of solicitors and
in-house lawyers. LNTV
decided to upgrade its
video production suite
with a range of JVC’s
DIGITAL S equipment.
“We were outputting
onto tape only, but were
looking to be able to output to a digital format,”
explains LNTV’s senior
VT editor Bob Blatchford.
“Price was always going
to be a key consideration
and once we had
sampled the DIGITAL S
specification and
compared its price with
other options on the
market, it really made no
sense to make further
comparison.”
The JVC package comprises a BR-D85E
DIGITAL S editing recorder with Pre-read facility,
the KY-D29E digital processing camera with
BR-D40E dockable
DIGITAL S recorder, and
a KA-P20 adaptor to
give digital / analogue
conversion capability to
LNTV’s current dockable
Beta SP unit.
Complementing the
system is the JVC DK101PN digital keyer,
again an economical
solution to insert various
effects within the digital
domain without any loss
in quality.
Installation was also
easy.
“The machines were
shoved into the racks
and they worked; that’s
the kind of integration
we wanted,” recalls
Blatchford, who is unequivocal in his summingup of the DIGITAL S system: “Excellent value for
money, seamless integration and good technical
back-up. That’s good.”

“Wir hatten bislang
ausschließlich auf Band produziert, wollten in Zukunft aber
auch im Digitalformat ausgeben,” erläutert Bob Blatchford,

“Der Preis hat bei diesen Überlegungen selbstverständlich eine
wichtige Rolle gespielt. Als wir

verglichen, war die Entscheidung

Das JVC-Paket besteht aus einem
Editing-Recorder des Typs
BR-D85E mit Pre-Read-Funktion,
der Digitalkamera KY-D29E
mit anschließbarem DIGITAL S
Recorder BR-D40E sowie einem
Adapter KA-P20 für die
Umsetzung von Digital- auf
Analogtechnik, damit die
Kompatibilität zum Beta-SPSystem von LNTV gewährleistet
bleibt.
Ergänzt wird die Lösung durch
das digitale JVC-Nachbearbeitungssystem DK-101PN, mit dem
sich verschiedenste
Spezialeffekte aus der
Digitaltechnik ohne
Qualitätsverlust einbauen lassen.
Die Installation war denkbar einfach. “Wir haben die Maschinen
in die Racks geschoben und
sofort damit gearbeitet. Genau

Integration vor,” erinnert sich

Legal Network Television (LNTV) est le centre de production interne du “The College of Law”, le principal
producteur de matériel de formation pour les cabinets de juristes et d'avocats en Grande-Bretagne. LNTV a
pris la décision de développer ses installations de production vidéo en ajoutant un équipement JVC DIGITAL S.
“Nous ne produisons que des cassettes, mais nous cherchions à passer à un format numérique”, explique
Bob Blatchford, chef monteur magnétoscope de LNTV. “Le coût allait évidemment être un facteur essentiel
de décision. Après avoir étudié les caractéristiques du DIGITAL S et comparé son prix avec les autres choix
du marché, la conclusion s'imposait d'elle-même.”
L'équipement JVC comprend un magnétoscope de montage DIGITAL S DR-D85E avec prélecture, une
caméra numérique KY-RD29E avec magnétoscope DIGITAL S dockable BR-D40E et un adaptateur KA-P20
autorisant la conversion numérique/analogique vers l'appareil Beta SP dockable dont dispose actuellement
LNTV.
En complément, le système comporte un pupitre numérique JVC DK-101PN, solution économique pour intégrer divers effets numériques sans aucune perte de qualité.
Côté installation, tout a été très simple: “On a glissé les machines dans les racks et elles se sont mises à
tourner. C'est le genre d'intégration que nous voulions”, rappelle Blatchford qui ajoute avec une totale franchise son opinion sur le DIGITAL S: “Excellent rapport qualité-prix, intégration sans histoire et bon support
technique. Parfait, quoi.”
DIGITAL S supera il controinterrogatorio in tribunale
La Legal Network Television (LNTV) è la struttura di produzione interna del “The College of Law” e principale fornitore della Gran Bretagna di materiale educativo e formativo per studi legali e avvocati interni. La
LNTV ha deciso di arricchire la propria console di produzione video con una gamma di apparecchiature
JVC in formato DIGITAL S.
“Produciamo esclusivamente su nastro, ma stiamo lavorando per uscire anche in formato digitale”, spiega
Bob Blatchford, responsabile tecnico del montaggio presso la LNTV. “Il prezzo è sempre un fattore chiave e
dopo aver valutato le caratteristiche tecniche del DIGITAL S e confrontato il suo prezzo con quello di altre
apparecchiature disponibili sul mercato non avrebbe avuto senso fare ulteriori confronti.”
Il pacchetto JVC è costituito da un registratore per montaggi BR-D85E in formato DIGITAL S con funzione
di prelettura, una telecamera ad elaborazione digitale KY-D29E con videoregistratore dockable BR-D40E e
un adattatore KA-P20 con funzione di conversione digitale/analogica associato all’apparecchiatura Beta
SP attualmente in uso presso la LNTV.
Completa il sistema il manipolatore digitale JVC DK-101PN; soluzione economica per inserire vari effetti in
ambiente digitale senza alcuna perdita di qualità.
Anche l’installazione è stata facile. “Abbiamo preso le macchine, le abbiamo messe dove dovevano andare e hanno subito funzionato; è il genere di integrazione che volevamo”, ricorda Blatchford che non lascia
spazio ad equivoci nel suo giudizio globale sul sistema DIGITAL S: “Ottimo investimento, integrazione perfetta e buon supporto tecnico. Prova superata.”

empresas. LNTV decidió actualizar su sistema de producción de vídeo con una gama de equipos DIGITAL
S de JVC.
“Sólo transferíamos el material a cinta, pero nos interesaba poder pasarlo a un formato digital”, explica
Bob Blatchford, redactor jefe de VT de LNTV. “El precio siempre iba a ser un factor clave y una vez que
probamos la especificación de DIGITAL S y comparamos su precio con el de otras opciones disponibles en
el mercado, decidimos que no tenía sentido seguir buscando.”
El paquete de JVC incluye un grabador de edición DIGITAL S BR-D85E con capacidad de lectura previa, la
cámara de procesamiento digital KY-D29E con grabador DIGITAL S BR-D40E acoplable, y un adaptador
KA-P20 para ofrecer una capacidad de conversión digital/analógico a la actual unidad SP Beta acoplable
de LNTV.
El sistema se complementa con el sintonizador digital JVC DK-101PN, una solución económica para insertar diversos efectos especiales en el dominio digital sin pérdida alguna de la calidad.
La instalación también fue muy sencilla. “Los equipos se introdujeron en los bastidores y funcionaron; ése
es el tipo de integración que deseábamos”, recuerda Blatchford, quien
resume con toda claridad el sistema DIGITAL S: “Excelente relación precio/rendimiento, perfecta integración y buena asistencia técnica. Mejor,
imposible.”
