Les baptêmes auront lieu durant les messes
dominicales. Il y aura deux sessions de préparation
pour les parents. Veuillez téléphoner au bureau
avant de fixer la date du baptême.
Baptisms will take place during Sunday Masses.
There are two sessions of preparation for the
parents. Please call the office before choosing the
date of the Baptism.
Il faut contacter le prêtre au moins dix (10) mois

L’Épiphanie désigne aujourd’hui une fête chrétienne
qui célèbre le Messie venu et incarné dans le monde et
recevant la visite des trois Rois Mages.

• la myrrhe… annonçant la souffrance

Un merci sincère à tous ceux et celles qui ont aidé avec
les célébrations durant la saison de Noël: le beau décor,
les chorales, ministres de l’Eucharistie, lecteurs et
lectrices, commentateurs et commentatrices, servants de
messe, etc. Votre dévouement est grandement apprécié!!

• un dialogue avec Jésus tous les jours
• examiner nos attitudes pour voir si nos actions

Goal for the Week :
The Epiphany celebrates
the visit of the three wise
men to the Child Jesus,
bringing gifts of gold,
myrrh and frankincense.
In Matthew 22:37 it says: ‘Love the Lord with all your
heart, with all your soul and with all your mind.’
How can we show our love for Jesus? Not to be
ashamed or afraid to say that we are Catholics… this
should show by our words, our actions, our deeds, to
show our love for Christ and for others. The proof of
our love for God is our obedience to the
commandments of God. Coming to visit Him every
Sunday… participating at Mass, asking for His help and
His guidance. Let’s be like the Wise Men… let’s
follow the guiding Star.
“Lord Jesus, look into our hearts when we do
something that displeases You. Forgive us our sins!
Help us to love you more deeply, more faithfully!”
Amen.

Marriage Prep
We are now planning the Marriage Preparation
weekend, which will take place February 28 &
March 1, 2014. If you are planning to be
married in Immaculée Conception Church in
2014 and have not contacted the parish, please call the

Les 7 merveilles du monde
Un enseignant demande à un groupe d’élèves :
dresser une liste de ce que vous considérez être les
7 merveilles du monde actuel. Malgré quelques
désaccords, la plupart des élèves trouvèrent à peu
près les mêmes réponses :
Les grandes pyramides d’Égypte, le Taj Mahal, le Grand
Canyon, le Canal du Panama, le grand mur de Chine, la
Basilique St-Pierre, l’Empire State Building…
Alors que l’enseignant ramassait les réponses, il se
rendit compte qu’une élève n’avait pas encore remis sa
copie. Il demanda à la fillette si elle éprouvait de la
difficulté à terminer sa liste. L’élève lui répondit, oui,
un peu. Je n’arrivais pas à me décider car il y en a
tellement. L’enseignant lui répondit : Eh bien, dis-nous
ce que tu as trouvé et peut-être que nous pourrons
t’aider.
La jeune fille hésita, puis commença sa lecture :
Je crois que les 7 merveilles du monde sont :
Le Toucher, le Goût, la Vue, le Sourire, l’Amour, l’Ouïe,
les Sentiments.
On aurait pu entendre tomber une épingle tellement la
classe était silencieuse. Toutes ces choses que nous ne
remarquons plus tellement, elles sont simples et si
ordinaires. Par contre, en réalité, ce sont des
Merveilles!! Souvenez-vous que les choses les plus
précieuses de la vie sont les choses qu’on ne peut
acheter.
Marriage Tips for the Month
Choice… we find what we are looking
for. We see whatever we choose in our
minds to see. Our perception, how we
view a situation, is a result of our own
attitude.
Mind-Set… Once we have a particular mind-set, we
see anything our partner does in a certain way – either
positively or negatively – even if our perception is
inaccurate.
Evidence… If you think your spouse is lazy, you will
find plenty of evidence to support your case. If you
think your spouse is efficient, you find instances to
back that up, too.
Yes, But… Some people counter every solution in
marriage therapy with “Yes, but”… example: “Do
you listen?” “Yes, but he/she doesn’t understand me.”
Their mind-set filters solutions out.
Two Camps… Husbands and wives are divided into
two basic camps: either a positive mind-set or a
negative mind-set. Each of us is either more positive
or more negative.
Vision… The negative person defends their point of
view as being realistic, whereas the positive person
looks beyond the current situation and sees creative
new possibilities.
Step One… There are four steps in changing a
negative attitude. First: look for the positive that
balances the negative. Blinders may prevent seeing
the good or make the negative seem worse.
Step Two… Refuse to be a victim. You may feel
sorry for yourself because of poor finances or health,
but self-pity just drains energy. Choose to step out of
it and determine your own destiny.
Step Three… Give up grudges. Bitterness and
resentment poison positive thinking. Carrying a
grudge, no matter how justified it seems, must be
expelled in order to let good thoughts in.
Step Four… Give yourself and your partner some
grace/a break. Negative attitudes can be like big
habitual ruts, so go easy if they don’t change right
away. Each day is a new opportunity.
