“Stone land” est le deuxième album du groupe russe AUTOGRAPH, paru en 1989, que Musea réédite
aujourd’hui. Le premier opus du groupe s’était vendu à quatre millions d’exemplaires, ce qui permit au groupe
de faire des tournées et des concerts aux côtés de Chicago, santana, John Mc Laughlin, et beaucoup d’autres…
les dix chansons qui composent cet album proposent un Prog-FM très professionnel et sophistiqué, souvent
proche de Journey, Foreigner ou Toto, avec une « couleur » plus progressive. Un chant souvent haut placé, des
guitares (et un saxo) dynamiques, un chant en russe, sont les caractéristiques principales de cet ensemble
agréable et très enlevé. Voilà un rock sophistiqué d’excellente qualité.
Points forts : - une production excellente (enregistrement à Los Angeles, avec des moyens conséquents)
- des solis de saxo et de guitare très convaincants
« Stone land » was the second album by the Russian band AUTOGRAPH. The first one had sold
about four million copies in 1985, which gave the band the opportunity to play in several festivals, with Chicago,
John Mc Laughlin, Santana, “Stone land”, initially released in 1989, offers ten songs (each one around five
minutes). It’s a very professional and polished prog’- FM, not unlike Toto, Journey or Foreigner, mixing ballads
and heavy pieces. High pitched vocals, dynamic guitar and rythms, Russian singing, are the main points to
underline in this sophisticated rock music of excellent quality.
High points: - an excellent sound and production (album recorded in Los Angeles)
