FOR PORSCHE® IN 2003,
IT’S WHAT’S NOW, WHAT’S NEW
AND WHAT’S NEXT
Newly enhanced Boxster® and Boxster S lead fast-paced product parade
ATLANTA – For Porsche Cars North America, the 2003 model year is a case of
what’s now, what’s new and what’s next. What’s now is the 911®, the worldwide
sports car benchmark that has grown into a full lineup of seven vehicles. What’s
new are the revised and enhanced Boxster and Boxster S. What’s next is the
Cayenne®, the Porsche sport-utility vehicle.
“Porsche’s fast-paced parade of products began last year with the more powerful
and restyled 911 series,” says Frederick J. Schwab, President and CEO of
Porsche Cars North America. “Now we’re unveiling enhancements to the Boxster
and Boxster S models that include more powerful engines, subtle styling updates
and a new roof with a glass window.
And very soon we’ll put the sport into sport utility with the Porsche Cayenne S
and Porsche Cayenne Turbo.”
In North America for the 2003 model year, the 911 lineup includes the 911
Carrera® Coupe and Cabriolet, the 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet, the 911 Carrera 4S,
the 911 Targa®, the 911 Turbo and the 911 GT2.

After undergoing extensive modifications last year, the focus for updating the 911
for 2003 involved additional improvements to the audio system with standard
digital radios and in-dash CD players.
“The Porsche 911 is the world’s standard for sports cars,” says Schwab. “This
is what a sports car should be. It’s fun. It’s powerful. It’s precise. Whether
you’re club racing on the weekend or finding new curves to explore on your daily
commute, it can make every drive an exciting experience.”
The same can be said of the Boxster roadster, which was accepted as an instant
classic by automotive enthusiasts around the world. The Boxster was such a
success that it went virtually unchanged through its first six model years. Even
now, with the updated and enhanced Boxster and Boxster S, the changes,
especially those involving re-styled bodywork details, all were designed to better
express the roadster’s functional features.

Among those functional upgrades for 2003 are more powerful engines that are
more fuel efficient as well.
“The Boxster established itself as the benchmark in the roadster segment,” says
Schwab. “With the new 2003 Boxster and 2003 Boxster S, we’ve raised that
benchmark even higher.”
Soon, the Porsche Cayenne will set new standards for sport utility vehicles.
Cayenne puts
the sport in
“Just as the 911 and Boxster brought a new dimension to sports cars, the Cayenne
brings a new dynamic to the sport utility segment,” says Schwab. “The Cayenne
will provide a sporty driving experience regardless of the surface.”
sport utility
Regardless of the model, every new Porsche car sold in the United States and Canada
is covered by a four-year/50,000-mile (80,000 kilometer), bumper-to-bumper
limited warranty, which includes Porsche’s roadside assistance program. The
galvanized body and 26-step paint and anti-corrosion process enable Porsche to
warrant each car against rust perforation for 10 years and unlimited mileage. In
addition, Porsche guarantees the paint finish for three years – also without a
mileage limitation.
