Michel AUBIER est Professeur de Pneumologie à l’Université Denis Diderot - Paris VII depuis
mai 1988 et Chef de Service de Pneumologie A de l’hôpital Bichat à Paris Après avoir
effectué un stage post doctoral à l’Université Mac Gill à Montréal, il a effectué un clinicat
de 3 ans en Pneumologie et ensuite a été chargé de recherche première classe à l’INSERM
de 1983 à 1988. Durant son stage post doctoral, il a commencé à s’intéresser aux
mécanismes conduisant à l’insuffisance respiratoire.
Ces dernières années, il s’est intéressé aux mécanismes cellulaires et moléculaires
responsables du remodelage bronchique de l’asthme sévère et des bronchopneumopathies
chroniques obstructives. Il développe ces thématiques au sein de l’équipe 2 l’unité
INSERM 700 dont il est co-responsable ainsi qu’au sein du CIC 07 de l’hôpital BICHAT qu’il
coordonne. Au sein de ce CIC, il a développé une recherche clinique translationnelle sur
l’asthme sévère en relation avec la recherche d’amont effectuée au sein de l’unité
INSERM 700. Il est co-auteur de plus de 250 publications dont plusieurs en premier et en
dernier auteur dans le New England Journal of Medecine, Journal of Clinical Investigation,
Journal of Immunology., Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, and American Journal
of Respiratory and Critical Care medicine. Ces travaux ont été récompensés par plusieurs
prix scientifiques dont le prix de la Fondation de la Recherche Médicale, le Manuel
Albertal Award de l’American College of Chest physician et le prix Environnement – Santé
de l’Académie Nationale de Medecine. Michel AUBIER a été membre de nombreuses
instances d’évaluation en France et à l’étranger. Il a participé à plusieurs commissions
INSERM, a été membre du Comité d’Orientation de Recherche Stratégique de l’INSERM de
2001 à 2008, Président du Conseil Scientifique et Vice Doyen de la Faculté de Médecine
de Xavier Bichat et membre du Conseil de Gestion de la Faculté de Médecine Denis
Diderot Paris VII.
