Active substance controled release system and preparation process
Active substance controled release system and preparation process TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION Notre référence : 01343-01 Status des brevets French patent application FR0705187 filed on july 18, 2007 and entitled "Système à libération contrôlée d’un principe actif et procédé de préparation" Inventeurs Michel VERT Laurent LECLERCQ Mahfoud BOUSTTA Status Commercial Research agreement, exclusive or non exclusive licenses. Laboratoires Institut des Biomolécules Max Mousseron (IBMM, UMR5247), Montpellier, France The invention concerns a biodegradable polymer matrix intended to trap an active substance and allowing a controled and delayed release of this substance. The invention is based on the use of a polymer matrix made of PLAGA (poly (lactic-coglycolic acid) trapping the active substance which is combined with a PLCA (poly(L-lysine citramide)) or a PMLA (poly(malic acid)) polyanion. The association between the active substance and an acido-sensitive polyelectrolyte makes insoluble the active substance in aqueous medium. The matrix deterioration leads to the polyelectrolyte complex release (type PMLA/peptide). The acid nature of the products of the matrix deterioration catalyses the deterioration. BENEFITS Hydrogels are hydrophile polymers networks used in active substance controled release. Hydrogels models in current development show limits in the level of active substance retention and the release rate. The matrix/polyanion/peptide system developed in this invention allows an extended release of the compound up to 18 days. This technology can be applied to different models of matrix and polyanions and can be adapted to specific needs. INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS This system can be used for the controled release of active substances in the pharmaceutical or cosmetic domains.
