Le Carnaval d’hiver de Courtice North, 2014 This year, we are pleased to present the first ever French Winter Carnaval for the students of Courtice North! The program will run the week of 10 - 14 February, 2014 and involve our junior and intermediate (grades 4-8) classes in events designed to promote school spirit and appreciation of French Canadian culture. The following schedule outlines our plan for the week: Lundi, Feb. 10/’14 Mardi, Feb. 11/’14 Mercredi Feb. 12/’14 Jeudi, Feb. 13/’14 Vendredi, Feb. 14/’14 Day 5 Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4 Lumberjack Shirt & Sash Day Hockey Jersey Day Skating @ Rickard Arena Tuque Day/Outside Game Day Red & White Day (Rouge et Blanc) Blue & White Day (Bleu et Blanc) Outside Play Day (10:50-12:10) La soirée du Hockey Olympique: Junior Bingo (In Class) TO BE CONFIRMED Traditional French Canadian Food and Treats Shuttle bus leaves CNPS @ 9:15am and will return @ 12:30pm; Group 1: 9:15 - 11:45 Group 2: 9:50 - 12:20 *Please note: All skaters must be wearing a CSA approved hockey helmet. Bike helmets are NOT appropriate substitutes. Mouth guards are also preferred. • • • • Rest Station & Hot Chocolate Tug of War Hockey Shot Contest Twin Races (Olympic Hockey Night in Canada) Canada vs Norvège on the big screen in the gym! (12:00-2:50) Intermediate Valentine’s Dance (Gym) Students not participating to this event will stay at school in the game/movie room. Cost: n/a Cost: $5.00/skater Cost: n/a Cost: n/a Cost: n/a We would ask your help with a small donation ($2.00/student) to assist with covering the cost of food, hot chocolate, Bingo prizes, etc. In order to fully cover the fees pertaining to ice rental and bussing, we ask that those choosing to skate please boost their donation to $5.00/student.
