XLR-RATE™ lubricant promotes a clean BHA to allow for more weight on bit and increases in the rate of
penetration when water-based drilling fluids are used. Drilling fluid properties are generally not affected by
XLR-RATE lubricant additions. It can also improve sliding while directionally drilling and may be applied
continuously to the system or used in sweep treatments. XLR-RATE lubricant is compatible with most water
based systems and suitable for use up to 400°F (204°C). XLR-RATE lubricant may cause sheening in
off-shore applications.
• Helps enhance rate of penetration

1-4% by volume in water-based drilling fluids. Add 3-10% XLR-RATE lubricant in sweeps and pump as
needed or inject directly down hole. These volumes may then be incorporated into the active mud system.
XLR-RATE lubricant may also be added directly to the active system.
XLR-RATE lubricant is packaged in 55-gal (208-l) drums.
