BUSINESS LAW IN AFRICA:
The OHBLA Seminar of the Paris Bar
The Africa Commission of the Bar of Paris organized
on March 25, 1999 at the House of the Bar a conference on the process of harmonization of business
law in Africa and more specifically on the topic:
“ OHBLA : the practical reality towards a development of the harmonized positive law ”.
La Commission Afrique du Barreau de Paris a organisé le
25 mars 1999 à la Maison du Barreau une conférence sur
le processus d’harmonisation du droit des affaires en
Afrique et, plus particulièrement, sur le thème : « l’OHADA :
la réalité pratique vers un développement du droit positif
harmonisé ».
After the opening speech of Mrs Dominique de la
Garanderie, President of the Order of Lawyers at the
Court of Paris, the following interventions were listened within the framework of the first and the second
reports:
Après le discours d’accueil de Madame Dominique de la
Garanderie, Bâtonnier de l’Ordre des Avocats à la Cour de
Paris, les interventions suivantes ont été écoutées dans le
cadre du premier et du deuxième rapports :

President of the Common Court of Justice and
Arbitration of the OHBLA, in Abidjan.
• Le rôle des juridictions nationales et le droit harmonisé par
Monsieur Boua-Vé, Conseiller à la Cour Suprême et
Directeur de Cabinet du Président de la Cour Suprême de
Côte d’Ivoire.
• The Role of National Jurisdictions and the Harmonized Law by Mr Boua-Vé, Adviser at the Supreme
and Principal Private Secretary of the President of
the Supreme Court of Ivory Coast.
Au cours du troisième rappor t animé par Madame
Frédérique Chifflot-Bourgeois, avocat au Barreau de Paris,
les participants ont d’abord pu écouter les communications
de Monsieur Appolinaire Ondo Mvé, Président du Tribunal
de Première Instance de Libreville, et de Monsieur Abraham
Zinzindohoué, puis un échange a suivi concernant l’application et l’interprétation de certaines dispositions des Actes
uniformes.
During the third report animated by Mrs Madame
Frédérique Chifflot-Bourgeois, lawyer at the Bar of
Paris, the participants first could listen to the communications from Mr Appolinaire Ondo Mvé,
President of the Court of First Instance of Libreville,
and Mr Abraham Zinzindohoué, followed by a
debate concerning the application and the interpretation of certain provisions of the uniform Acts.
Monsieur Mario Stasi, Ancien Bâtonnier de l’Ordre des
Avocats à la Cour d’Appel de Paris, Secrétaire Général de
la CIB a ensuite prononcé le discours de clôture.
Mr Mario Stasi, Former President of the Order of
Lawyers at the Court of Appeal of Paris, Secretarygeneral of the CIB then made the closing speech.
La Revue de Droit des Affaires Internationales se propose
de publier dans le présent numéro les interventions des
deux hauts magistrats, Monsieur le Premier Vice-Président
de la Cour Commune de Justice et d’Arbitrage et Monsieur
le Président de la Cour Suprême du Bénin, dont les institutions occupent une place particulière dans l’édifice OHADA.
The International Business Law Journal proposes to
publish in this present issue the interventions of the
two high magistrates, Mister First Vice-president of
the Common Court of Justice and Arbitration and
Mister President of the Supreme Court of Benin,
whose institutions take a particular place in the
OHBLA framework.
