Diana West est une IBCLC en
pratique privée au New-Jersey, aux
États-Unis. Elle détient un
baccalauréat en psychologie de
l'Université du Maryland, du comté
de Baltimore. Elle compte plus de 18
années d'expérience auprès des
mères qui allaitent et leurs bébés
Elle a débuté sa carrière avec La
Leche League International en 1998
et est devenue IBCLC en 2002, et a
été recertifiée en 2012.
Elle a ouvert sa première pratique
de consultante en lactation à
Gaithersburg, au Maryland, en
2002, où elle offrait des visites à
domicile dans la région des
Washington DC et les environs.
Après son déménagement au New
Jersey, elle débuta avec Elizabeth
Myler, une nouvelle pratique
appelée Mahala Lactation and
Perinatal Services, LLC, offrant des
visites à domicile et au bureau dans
la région du Nord du New Jersey.
Elle a quitté Mahala à la fin de 2014
pour se concentrer sur ses
projets de rédaction et de
conférencières. Pour le moment,
elle a de nouveau ouvert sa
pratique privée pour voir
quelques clients sur une base
limitée. Elle est une ardente
alliée de la communauté
LGBTQIA* et offre une pratique
inclusive.
Elle a donné des conférences en Amérique du Nord et partout dans le monde
depuis 2001. Elle est l'auteure et la co-auteure de nombreux ouvrages dont :
Defining Your Own Success: Breastfeeding after Breast Reduction Surgery.
Elle est également la co-auteure du livre Sweet Sleep: Nighttime and
Naptime Strategies for the Breastfeeding Family, de la 8e édition de l'ouvrage
classique The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding de La Leche League
International, des livres The Breastfeeding Mother’s Guide to Making More
Milk, Breastfeeding after Breast and Nipple Procedures. Elle a également
participé à l'élaboration de l'outil de triage en allaitement pour les cliniciens
(Clinician’s Breastfeeding Triage Tool).
Elle est directrice des relations avec les médias pour La Leche League
International et membre du comité de révision du Journal of Clinical
Lactation. Elle gère les sites Internet très fréquentés BFAR.org et
LowMilkSupply.org.
DIANA WEST is an

babies. She holds a bachelor’s
degree in psychology from the
University of Maryland,
Baltimore County. She began
her work as a La Leche League
Leader (volunteer
breastfeeding counselor)
in 1998, and then became an
IBCLC in 2002 and
recertified by exam in
2012. She opened her first
lactation consultation practice
in Gaithersburg, Maryland, in
2002, offering home visits in
the Washington, DC,
suburbs. After moving to New
Jersey, She began a new
practice called Mahala
Lactation and Perinatal
Services, LLC, with Elizabeth
Myler, offering home and
office visits in northern New
Jersey. She left Mahala at the
end of 2014 to concentrate on
writing and lecturing. At that
time, she re-opened her
private practice to see clients
on a limited basis. She is a
staunch LGBTQIA* Ally and has
an inclusive practice.
She has been speaking at conferences in North
American and around the world since 2001 and is
the co-author or sole author of several books and
publications namely Sweet Sleep and the
Womanly Art of Breastfeeding published by La
Leche League International.
