Direc tion rkin s & Pa g High Museum conference room, 1280 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, http://www.high.org/Visit/Hours-Directions-and-Parking.aspx This teacher institute is developed specifically to prepare educators to bring their students to visit the exhibition: Cézanne and the Modern: Masterpieces of European Art from the Pearlman, by giving them the necessary background information as well as lesson ideas to engage their students in preand post-visit lessons. It will provide large group presentation, gallery activities, and subject -based workshops. The aim is to give educators ideas to link the acquisition of background information (artists’ names, works of art, artistic periods, historical references) to the acquisition of linguistic and cultural competencies in French for their students. Educators will work with the audio guide to prepare students for their museum visit. Using text from the audio guide and directed writing exercises, educators will create their own material for dramatic scenes based on the exhibition.
