SYNOPSIS - Malgré qu'ils ne se soient pas parlés depuis plus de 15 ans, Khalil décide de
tourner un documentaire sur son grand-père, Monsieur Noun, un égyptien solitaire habitant
à Paris. La seule amie du vieil homme est Anna, sa voisine prostituée. Mais un jour,
Monsieur Noun disparaît mystérieusement... Anna et Khalil commencent alors une enquête.

Khalil decides to make a documentary about his grandfather, Mister Noun. They have not
spoken to each other for more than 15 years and the old man’s only friend is Anna, a
prostitute who lives next door. One day, mister Noun, disappears mysteriously… Anna and
Khalil start an investigation.

Né le 9 février 1978, à Téhéran, Iran, d'origine srilankaise, Srinath
Christopher Samarasinghe a grandi à Paris, France. Durant son
enfance, trois évènements vont le marquer et le guider vers le chemin
qu'il a pris. La mort violente de Monsieur B, voisin octogénaire de son
immeuble qui prenait soin de lui. La disparition de sa grand-mère
maternelle. La découverte des premières éditions de Jules Verne chez
l'arrière petite-fille de celui-ci. Ces trois évènements vont lui donner
envie de raconter des histoires. Il obtient une Maîtrise et un DESS
(équivalent d'un master) en Réalisation Cinématographique, avec
mention à l'université Paris VIII, Saint-Denis. Cette période lui permet
de belles rencontres, Danielle Jaeggi, Serge Le Péron, Denis Guedj, Sir
Arthur C. Clarke (écrivain et scénariste de «2001, l'odyssée de
l'espace»)... Son grand-père, ancien projectionniste puis gérant d'un
cinéma au Sri Lanka, lui insufflera définitivement l'envie de raconter
des histoires. Il aborde ses propres questionnements sur les rapports
humains, la vie et la mort, la destinée, le hasard, l'amour et la
violence à travers ses personnages et ses narrations.

Born from Sri Lankan parents in 1978 in Teheran, Iran, Srinath Christopher
Samarasinghe grew up in Paris, France. As a child, three important events
will make a lasting impression on him and guide him to where he is now.
First, the violent death of Mr. B, his octogenarian neighbor, who was taking
care of him. Second, the disappearance of his maternal grandmother. And at
last, the discovery of Jules Verne’s first edition books at Verne’s great
granddaughter’s home. Those three special occurrences will make him want
to tell stories. His grandfather, a former projectionist and movie theater
manager in Sri Lanka, will definitely instill in him the urge to tell stories. He
studied filmmaking and received his master’s with distinction at Paris VIII.
His university years were particularly rich in meaningful encounters like
Danielle Jaeggi, Serge Le Péron, Denis Guedj, Sir Arthur C. Clarke, etc. He now
confronts his own questions on human relationships, life and death, destiny,
fate, love and violence through his stories and their characters.his new
creations from 2012. Martin is presently preparing his next feature.

industry wishing to get involved in the distribution process.
The collective offers innovative, creative and responsive tools
to filmmakers, embracing the new distribution reality. Short
films, documentaries or auteur-driven feature films; 3.14
*Collectif allows its members to flourish with their work.

de se doter de leurs propres services de distribution, et ainsi
d’offrir aux diffuseurs et à leurs différents publics l’accès à des
oeuvres remarquables qui seraient autrement ignorées.
The creation and operation of 3.14 *Collectif offers its
members an alternative to develop their own distribution
tool, thus offering an opportunity to deliver short films,
documentaries and features films to their respective
audiences, whilst improving the visibility of the works which
would have been overlooked.
Qui peut en faire partie? Les artisans du milieu du cinéma et de
la télévision, qu’ils soient créateurs, diffuseurs ou fournisseurs,
de même que toute personne ou organisation intéressée par la
distribution cinématographique, le développement culturel et la
coopération. On devient membre, que ce soit à titre individuel ou
corporatif, une seule fois à vie.
