Music Festivals 2016 in France

Created in 1869, the Chorégies d'Orange -one of the oldest festivals in France take place every summer in the magnificent perfectly preserved Roman theatre of
Orange. The Roman Theatre is a great testimony of Roman design and engineering
and is the only building of its kind to have an acoustic stage wall guaranteeing
exceptional sound quality for every performance. Many of the world’s great lyrical
artists have performed placing the festival among the best in France. Opera lovers
from the entire world come to admire not only the operas, but also the oratorio
and the concerts.
Festival International de Piano, La RoqueD'Anthéron (Provence)
22 July to 17 August 2016
For three decades, the piano festival of La Roque d'Anthéron continues its magic
recitals night at Castle Florans. The festival offers, every year, an abundant
panorama of the piano world within the grand and intimate castle park, as well as
other sites just as magical. This event, dear music lovers is an opportunity to
discover the heritage of Provence.

The Festival de Beaune is one of the most prestigious festivals of baroque music in
Europe. It perpetuates the musical tradition of the Court of the Dukes of Burgundy

Festival Chopin de Nohant (Berry)
June/ July 2016
This is near George Sand in Nohant that Frederic Chopin composed the essential
and perhaps the best of his work. A legacy that the festival of Nohant makes
revives each year involving other geniuses of music and literature of the
Romantic period.
For over 40 years, the greatest artists have performed there in the bucolic
setting of the Domaine de George Sand.
Les Grands Crus Musicaux (Bordelais)
14 – 28 July 2016
This original festival wants to bring classical music and fine wines together. The
prestigious wine estates (Smith Haut-Lafitte, Margaux, Yquem, Pessac ...) host
concerts followed by a tasting of a grand cru classé. These tasting cocktail is
