Concours pour la création du nouveau logo de l’Association du personnel du CERN Le logo actuel de l’Association du personnel du CERN contient le logo du CERN. La nouvelle charte graphique de l’Organisation spécifie qu’aucun logo ne peut inclure celui du CERN. L’Association du personnel a donc besoin d’un nouveau logo. Le Comité exécutif propose d’organiser un concours ouvert à tous pour faire des propositions pour ce nouveau logo. Toutes les propositions seront exposées dans le Bâtiment principal du 4 au 15 février 2013. Six finalistes seront sélectionnés (3 par les membres du personnel du CERN et 3 par un jury). Les membres de l’Association du personnel du CERN seront ensuite invités à faire leur choix, parmi les finalistes, par vote électronique. Article 1 : Objet du concours L’Association du personnel du CERN organise un concours pour la création de son nouveau logo. Article 2 : Participants au concours Le concours est ouvert à tous, professionnels ou amateurs (graphistes, designers, artistes, étudiants…), à titre individuel ou collectif. Sont exclus du concours les membres du jury. Si le participant est âgé de moins de 18 ans lors de l’inscription, il doit fournir un consentement écrit d’un parent ou d’un représentant légal. Article 3 : Durée du concours Ce concours est ouvert du 3 décembre 2012 au 31 janvier 2012. Les propositions doivent parvenir à l’Association du personnel du CERN au plus tard le 31 janvier 2013 à 17h00. Article 4 : Contraintes techniques Le nouveau logo est destiné à être utilisé sur tous les supports de communication de l’Association du personnel du CERN. Les participants devront impérativement respecter les contraintes suivantes : – le logo doit être présenté dans un cadre de 20x20 cm, – la définition doit être de 300 dpi minimum, – le nombre maximum de couleurs est fixé à 2, – le logo doit inclure les textes suivants : « Association du personnel » « Staff Association » « CERN », – le logo doit supporter la conversion en noir et blanc et doit rester lisible à la taille de 2x2 cm, – la typographie doit être libre de droit et les textes doivent être vectorisés, – formats acceptés : psd, ai, eps, jpg, png... – le logo ne doit comporter aucune signature, ni mention du nom de l’auteur, Article 5 : Modalités de participation La participation est individuelle, gratuite et ne nécessite pas d’inscription préalable. Chaque participant ne pourra soumettre qu’une proposition de logo par e-mail à [email protected] L’e-mail devra inclure les nom, prénom, adresse, numéro de téléphone et adresse e-mail du participant. Les propositions devront être accompagnées d’un bref descriptif expliquant la symbolique des graphismes utilisés. Article 6 : Droits d’auteur Toute personne qui adresse une proposition de logo dans le cadre du concours reconnaît qu'elle en est l'auteur. Elle certifie en outre que son idée de logo ne porte pas atteinte aux droits de tiers et ne viole, directement ou indirectement, aucun droit d'auteur. Le gagnant renoncera à ses droits d'auteur sur son usage présent et à venir. Le gagnant s’engage à céder totalement et à titre gracieux ses droits d’auteur à l’Association du personnel du CERN, à savoir les droits de reproduction, représentation, d’adaptation, de modification, d’utilisation sur tous supports. Le logo retenu deviendra la propriété pleine, entière et exclusive de l’Association du personnel du CERN qui se réserve le droit de l’utiliser, de le modifier et de le reproduire sur tout média sans limitation de durée et sans que cette utilisation puisse conférer au gagnant un droit à rémunération à lui, sa famille ou à ses ayants-droits, ou un avantage quelconque autre que la remise du prix. Article 7 : Jury Le jury est désigné par le Comité exécutif. Il est constitué de sept personnes, membres de l’Association du personnel dont des professionnels de la communication. Le jury est tenu par un droit de réserve quant au contenu des délibérations. Les décisions du jury ne sont sujettes ni à recours ni à réclamation. Il ne sera pas échangé de correspondance. Le jury se réserve le droit d’apporter des corrections techniques de design. Article 8 : Critères de sélection des finalistes par le jury Chaque logo sera examiné d’après les critères suivants : a) la représentation des valeurs de l’Association du personnel du CERN, b) la qualité visuelle (graphisme, couleurs et police de caractères), c) la possibilité de l’adapter sur les différents supports, d) l'originalité de la conception, e) la lisibilité, f) la simplicité. Article 9 : Exposition, sélection des finalistes et désignation du gagnant Du 4 au 15 février 2013, les logos seront exposés dans le Bâtiment principal. Trois finalistes seront sélectionnés par les membres du personnel du CERN. Le jury évaluera les propositions et sélectionnera également trois finalistes dans les 15 jours suivant la date de fin du concours. Les six logos sélectionnés seront ensuite soumis au vote électronique des membres de l’Association du personnel du 18 au 22 février 2013. Article 10 : Proclamation des résultats Le gagnant sera avisé directement par l’Association du personnel du CERN, par téléphone ou par e-mail. Le logo primé et le nom du gagnant seront publiés à partir du 25 février sur le site internet de l’Association du personnel du CERN et dans Echo. Le logo gagnant sera repris par l’Association du personnel du CERN pour sa communication et son site Internet. Article 11 : Prix L’Association du personnel du CERN distribuera les prix de la manière suivante : 1er prix : un vélo électrique Ezee Suisse 2e prix : des bons d’achat Go Sport d’une valeur de 200 euros 3e prix : des bons d’achat Go Sport d’une valeur de 100 euros Les participants non primés ne seront pas dédommagés pour leur participation au concours. Article 12 : Annulation du concours Si le jury considère ne pas avoir suffisamment de propositions ou qu’aucune ne soit satisfaisante, l’Association du personnel se réserve le droit de reporter, suspendre ou annuler le concours à tout moment de la procédure, sans possibilité de réclamations par les candidats. Article 13 : Exclusion L’Association du personnel se réserve le droit d'exclure du concours tout candidat ayant plagié le travail d'un autre candidat ou ayant plagié un élément graphique protégé par des droits d'auteur. Article 14 : Adhésion au règlement Tout candidat reconnait avoir pris connaissance du présent règlement et en accepte toutes les dispositions, sans exclusion. Les participants s’engagent à : – respecter les règles de participation au concours. – autoriser l’exposition au public et sur le site de leur projet, – céder à l’Association du personnel qui en deviendra propriétaire tout droit sur le logo retenu (le nom du créateur ne figurera pas sur les documents faisant usage du logo). – ne pas utiliser ou recopier tout ou partie d’un logo déjà existant. Contest for the creation of the new logo of the CERN Staff Association The current logo of the CERN Staff Association includes the CERN logo. CERN’s new graphic charter indicates that no logo may include that of CERN. The CERN Staff Association therefore needs a new logo. The Executive Committee proposes to organize a contest open to all to submit proposals for this new logo. All proposals will be on display in the main building from 4 to 15 February 2013. Six finalists will be selected (3 by members of the CERN staff and 3 by a jury). Members of the CERN Staff Association will then be invited to make their choice among the finalists, by electronic voting. Article 1: Purpose of the contest The CERN Staff Association is organizing a logo contest for the creation of its new logo. Article 2: Participants to the contest The contest is open to anyone, whether professional or amateur. Members of the jury are excluded from participation. Participants under the age of 18 must have parental consent to enter the contest. Article 3: Duration of the contest The contest is open from 3 December 2012 to 31 January 2013. Proposals must be received by the CERN Staff Association no later than 5.00 p.m. on 31 January 2013. Article 4: Technical requirements The new logo is intended to be used on all means of communication of the CERN Staff Association. Participants are required to meet the following requirements: – the logo should be presented in a setting of 20x20 cm, – resolution must be 300 dpi minimum, – the maximum number of colors is set to 2, – the logo must include the following texts : « Association du personnel » « Staff Association » « CERN », – the logo must support conversion to black and white and must remain readable when reduced to 2x2 cm, – fonts must be free of coyright and texts must be vectorized, – accepted file types : psd, ai, eps, jpg, png... – the participant’s name or signature must not be included in the logo. Article 5: Conditions for participation Participation is on an individual basis, free of charge and does not require prior registration. Each participant may submit only one proposal by e-mail to [email protected] The email must include the name, age, postal address, phone number and email address of the participant. The proposal must be accompanied by a short description explaining the symbolism of the used graphics. Any proposal received after the closing date or not meeting the requirements will be excluded from the contest. Article 6: Copyright Each participant submitting a proposal acknowledges he/she is the author of the logo. The participant must also certify that the logo idea does not affect the rights of third parties and does not infringe, directly or indirectly, copyright. The winner will relinquish copyright on its present and future use. The winner undertakes to give for free the full copyrights to the CERN Staff Association, namely the rights of reproduction, representation, adaptation, modification, and use on any support. The winning logo will become the sole property of the CERN Staff Association who reserves the right to use, modify and reproduce it on any media without time limit and without such use conferring the winner, or their family, any rights whatsoever other than the awarded prize. Article 7: Jury The jury is appointed by the Executive Committee. It is made up of seven members of the Staff Association, including communication professionals. The jury is held by a right of reservation as to the content of the discussions. The jury's decisions are not subject to appeal or claim. No correspondence will be exchanged with the participants. The jury reserves the right to make technical modification of design. Article 8: Criteria for selection of finalists by the jury Each logo will be examined according to the following criteria: a) representation of the values of the CERN staff Association, b) visual quality (graphics, color, and font), c) possibility to adapt it in different formats d) originality of the design, e) readability, f) simplicity. Article 9: Exhibition, selection of the finalists and designation of the winner From 4 to 15 February 2013, the logos will be on display in the Main Building. Three finalists will be selected by the CERN staff members. The jury will evaluate the proposals and will also select three finalists within 15 days following the closing date of the contest. The six selected logos will be then submitted to the members of the CERN Staff Association for an electronic vote from 18 to 22 February 2013. Article 10: Announcement of the results The winner will be notified directly by the CERN Staff Association, either by phone or e-mail. The winning logo and the name of the winner will be published as from 25 February on the CERN Staff Association website and in Echo. The winning logo will be taken over by the CERN staff Association for its communication and its website. Article 11: Prizes The CERN Staff Association will distribute the prizes as follows: 1st Prize: an Ezee Suisse electric bike 2nd Prize: vouchers for Go Sport with a value of 200 euros 3rd Prize: vouchers for Go Sport with a value of 100 euros Non-award-winning participants will not receive compensation for their participation in the contest. Article 12: Cancellation of the contest If the jury considers there are not enough proposals or none is satisfactory, the CERN Staff Association reserves the right to postpone, suspend or cancel the contest at any time of the procedure, without the possibility of claims by the candidates. Article 13: Exclusion The Staff Association reserves the right to exclude from the contest any candidate having plagiarized the work of another candidate or having plagiarized a graphic element protected by copyright. Article 14 : Adherence to the rules Any candidate acknowledges having read these rules and accepts all of the provisions, without exclusion. The participants undertake to: – respect the rules of participation in the contest. – allow the exhibition of their proposals to the public and on the CERN Staff Association website, – transfer any copyrights to the CERN Staff Association who will become the owner of the winning logo (the creator's name will not appear on the documents making use of the logo). – not use or copy all or part of an existing logo.
