FACE PAINTING
Put your artistic skills to work and a smile on every face you paint!
Face painters will be chosen by an interview process and receive full training (artistic ability
required). Duties include:
• paint children's faces at the full-serve station,
• assist with supplies and supervise children at self-serve area,
• assist with line-up control and traffic flow.
FLOATERS
Can't decide what to do? Sign up as a floater and then select from a variety of activities that need
your help most on the day you volunteer, filing in for absent volunteers and doing unique jobs: a
great choice of activities!
HOSTS / AMBASSADORS
Welcome and provide orientation to school groups during weekdays and the general public on the
weekend and assist them with show or activity choices. Help with school bus arrivals and
departures.

Notre Journée FrancoFun, jeudi 28 mai, vous offre une grande gamme de possibilités pour faire
du bénévolat avec beaucoup de spectacles et d'ateliers en français.
For those comfortable speaking French, sign up for our FrancoFun Day on Thursday, May 28 there's lots to do in both languages!
Nous avons également besoin de bénévoles qui parlent français pour nos spectacles et activités
en français mercredi 27 et vendredi 29 mai.
Also, we need French speakers on Wednesday, May 27 and Friday, May 29 for our Frenchlanguage shows and activities.
CREW SUPPORT
Crew support volunteers will assist the Festival crew with their various tasks throughout the
Festival site:
• set up and strike
• security
• site monitoring
• performer services
They will also have many opportunities to act as ambassadors for the Festival and inform
Granville Island visitor of Festival activities and events.
• Evenings May 18 - 24 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm
• Daytime May 23 - 31 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
• Training provided
SPECIAL AREAS/EVENTS
If you're outgoing and enjoy meeting people, here are some special volunteer assignments.
FESTIVAL ADMINISTRATION
The Festival site office needs volunteers to answer phones, greet guests, do photocopying and
lots more.
INFO TENT
You'll get to know the Festival from top to bottom when you help out at the Info Tent.
VOLUNTEER TENT
Put your shift in at the tent where volunteers sign in, take breaks and do special projects.
SALES
Got retail experience? Put it to use selling artists' CDs & merchandise or Activity Wristbands.
HOSPITALITY
Assist with performer and volunteer hospitality.
TRAFFIC
A truly outdoor experience! Traffic assistants work with professional Festival crew directing traffic
on the road and in the parking lot.
TENT ACTIVITIES
Each of our creative, hands-on activities need volunteers to help the coordinator run the activity,
assist children taking part, and to help manage line-ups and traffic flow in one of 15 on-site
Activity Tents.
Activities include various Visual Arts Workshops, Making Music with Found Objects, Circus Skills,
Magical Mystery Maze, Giant Board Games, Preschool Pavilion and much more.
USHERS & TICKET TAKERS
Take tickets at the show venues, help with line-ups and crowd control or be an usher, see shows
in tents and assist audience as necessary, then assist with post-show clean-up.
