The mineralized zone where exposed i n an open c u t i s
a s s o c i a t e d w i t h coarse-grained o l i v i n e gabbro. Outcrops i n t h
v i c i n i t y a r e s c a r c e , and o l i v i n e gabbro was noted only i n t h e
open c u t . Outcrops of sedimentary rocks t r e n d i n g westnorthwest and dipping t o t h e n o r t h were noted s h o r t d i s t a n c e s
t o t h e n o r t h and s o u t h of t h e open c u t , and suggest t h a t t h e
gabbro i s a s i l l . I n t h e open c u t a 1-foot-wide l e n s . o f
massive p y r r h o t i t e w i t h b l e b s and s t r i n g e r s of c h a l c o p y r i t e an
capped by a 5-foot-thick gossan zone s t r i k e s west-northwest
w i t h a 50-degree d i p t o t h e n o r t h . The a d j a c e n t o l i v i n e gabbr
c o n t a i n s *-inch b l e b s of p y r r h o t i t e rimmed by c h a l c o p y r i t e . A
sample a c r o s s t h e massive s u l p h i d e l e n s assayed: gold, t r a c e ;
s i l v e r , 0.3 ounce a ton; platinum, t r a c e ; copper, 1.66%; l e a d ,
trace; z i n c , t r a c e ; n i c k e l , 1.11%;
c o b a l t , 0.18%.

This showing i s l o c a t e d 500 f e e t i n l a n d from t h e n o r t h
s h o r e of Alice Arm, n o r t h of Davies P o i n t , 9 m i l e s southwest
of t h e community of A l i c e Arm.
The Anyox Extension claim was owned and prospected by N.P.
Olson 2n 1916; t h e only work r e p o r t e d a t t h a t t i m e was i n
s i n k i n g a pit through t h e iron-oxide capping; t h i s work
exposed a dark coloured rock w i t h some i r o n s u l p h i d e .
The Raywire.group of 12 recorded claims was staked on t h e
showing by prospector D. Collison, of A l i c e Arm, i n about 1965.
An open c u t was put down through t h e 5-foot-thick gossan zone.
Late <a t h e f a l l of 1965 t h e claims were optioned t o Falconb r i d g e Nickel &es Limited and geophysical and geochemical
surveys were c a r r i e d o u t .
The property was subsequently reduced t o 4 claims (Haywire
14). - F u r t h e r rock t r e n c h i n g was reported by owners D.
C o l l i s o n and A.D. York i n 1969. The Joanne B.C. Syndicate (A.
Cockshutt and T. McQuillan, p r i n c i p a l s ) , of Toronto, put down
two s h o r t Winkie d r i l l h o l e s i n 1971. The h o l e s , d r i l l e d
a c r o s s t h e e a s t w e s t s t r i k e of t h e gabbro s i l l i n t e r s e c t e d
only 1 0 f e e t of gabbro c o n t a i n i n g minor m i n e r a l i z a t i o n .
