«In the golden light N°5», 2015, pigments et liants sur toile de lin , 171 x 174 cm
Cinq ans après sa première exposition au Passage de Retz, Monique Frydman y présente à
l’automne 2016 ses oeuvres les plus récentes: In the golden light, onze grands tableaux aux
couleurs intenses.
Après le polyptyque Sassetta réalisé en 2014 pour le Salon Carré du Louvre, en conversation
avec le polyptyque du Borgo Sansepolcro du peintre eponyme du Quattrocento, avant Parasol
Unit de Londres l’an prochain, cette série peinte en 2015 aux couleurs de fin d’été s’offre au
spectateur comme une moisson approfondie et épanouie de son travail. L’émotion suscitée
par la couleur renvoie à la beauté et semble nous offrir une charte éthique qui nous emmène
ailleurs, vers une liberté rêvée hors du temps quotidien, hors de la barbarie et du désespoir.
Five years after her first exhibition at the Passage de Retz, Monique Frydman presents in autumn,
2016 her most recent works: in the Golden light, eleven big paintings with intense colors.
After the polyptych Sassetta realized in 2014 for the Louvre Museum’s Salon Carré , in conversation
with the polyptych of Borgo Sansepolcro from the eponym painter of the Quattrocento, and
before the exhibition at Parasol Unit in London next year, this series painted in 2015 with the
colors of the ending summer offers to the spectator like a thorough and spread harvest of her
work. The emotion aroused by the color sends back to the beauty and seems to offer us an
ethical charter which takes us somewhere else, towards a dreamed freedom timeless daily, out
of inhumanity and despair.
