Dr. Dr Michael E E. Stiles Michael Stiles was born in England and educated in South Africa, except for his Ph.D, Ph D, that he received from the University Ph.D of Illinois. He came to Canada with his family in 1968 as a Killam PostPost-Doctoral Fellow in Food Science at the University of Alberta and started on a career of research and teaching in Food Safety and Food Microbiology in the D Departments t t off F Foods d and dN Nutrition t iti and d Food Science at the University of Alberta. Dr. Dr Michael E E. Stiles He retired in 2000 and appointed as Professor Emeritus. The University of Alberta identified his research on bacteriocins and the use of Lactic Acid Bacteria as preservative agents in processed meats as a promising technology for commercial development.
