Une fois de plus, nous profiterons de cette rencontre pour mieux faire connaissance, pour consolider les relations et les partenariats existants, pour mettre sur pied de nouvelles collaborations et pour échanger sur les orientations scientifiques, les réalisations et les activités de DIALOG. The members of the steering committee, the members of the advisory council as well as the DIALOG cluster coordination team are extremely happy to welcome you to Montréal for the third DIALOG Annual Forum. This meeting will be an opportunity for us to get better acquainted, to strengthen ties and existing partnerships, to forge new collaborations and to discuss the scientific orientations, accomplishments and activities of DIALOG. Programme/Program Vendredi 20 février/Friday February 20th 9h00 Mot de bienvenue/Welcome Carole Lévesque, directrice de DIALOG 9h15 Grande Conférence/Keynote address “The end of hunting and gathering” by Kiera Ladner Kiera Ladner, Assistant Professor and Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Politics and Governance, Department of Political Studies, University of Manitoba. Kiera Ladner received her Ph.D. in Political Science from Carleton University in 2001. Her dissertation, “When Buffalo Speaks: Cree‐ating an AlterNative Understanding of Traditional Blackfoot Governance”, explores Indigenous theories of governance, power and politics, challenges the key theoretical assumptions of political science and lays a theoretical foundation for decolonizing the discipline. « Le projet Ecominga » 12h00 Lunch Réseautage/Networking – Session d’affichage/Poster Session 13h00 Grande Conférence/Keynote address « Moving Forward with Aboriginal Knowledge » by Peter Irniq Peter Irniq, Inuit Cultural Teacher, Consultant, and an accomplished Speaker, Mr. Irniq served two terms as Member of the Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly in 1975 to 1979 and from 1987 to 1991. He served as Deputy Minister of the Department of Culture, Language Elders and Youth and in April 2000 Mr. Irniq was appointed Commissioner for the new territory of Nunavut. He was recently appointed Principle for the newly created First Peoples House of Learning/Gzowski College. Professor Newhouse is an Associate Professor in the Department of Indigenous Studies and the Business Administration Program at Trent.
