Didier Levallet, previously the director of the French
National Jazz Orchestra, has managed to surround
himself with serious players such as the three famous
Céline
Bonacina
and
wind-instrumentalists
saxophone, Airelle Besson and trumpet, Sylvaine
Hélary and flutes. Together with François Laizeau on
the drums they are truly unbeatable. The quintet has
been highly praised by the press. “Sheer diamond” Jazz News. “ tones this rich produced with trumpet,
baritone saxophone and flutes, played by such great
talent would make monks dance”. “Didier Levallet
should be very happy indeed. By inviting faithful friend
François Laizeau he has managed to create a solid
team of players to interpret compositions which leave
great latitude to improvisation. These are attributes
greatly appreciated by an enthusiastic public

The eight artists of the
Black Label Swingtet
present a homage to
Duke Ellington and take
us back to one of the
richest and most heartwarming times in the
history of jazz, the
Swing Era, with its
incredible fusion of
styles. In addition to the
prestigious sounds of
Duke Ellington, Count
Basie, George Gershwin
and Cole Porter, the
Swingtet
presents
Bossa Nova, Biguines
from the Antilles, or
Blues. Patricia’s deep
and slightly husky voice
is surrounded by original
orchestrations and the
rich tones of the brass
instruments.

Imbert follows
his own path
in the the large
family of jazz with his improvisations and
arrangements as well as being a demanding
teacher. One of his favourite domains is the
quest for spirituality in jazz. On this subject he
has published a greatly acclaimed work
entitled “Jazz Suprême, Initiés, Mystiques et
Prophètes”” which the Canard Enchaîné has
described as a definite and fascinating book.On
stage he is accompanied by a rarity, a female
drummer, Anne Paceo.
