Welcome to the research e-newsletter!
We’re pleased to share with you the first newsletter from the
Research Office in the Office of Instructional Development! We
plan to distribute a newsletter every month or so to update the
community on upcoming grant deadlines, new resources and
services, and policies that affect researchers.
The newsletter is aimed at current and potential researchers
(both faculty and staff) at Dawson College. We hope to share timely, helpful, problem
-solving information, and would love to hear from you about what other info you
would like to receive.
Congratulations winners of the 2015 SSHRC Community &
College Social Innovation Fund!
Elizabeth Charles (Pedagogical Research) is working with an
interdisciplinary team of collaborators from post-secondary institutions
and companies to develop new paradigms and technologies for
evidence-based teaching practices. Their work aims to make it easier
and more effective for teachers to incorporate active learning into their teaching.
Gisela Frias (Geography) is working with an international team of
collaborators to promote and embody sustainability on campuses in
the global North and South. She is partnering with several
universities in Mexico to implement sustainability projects, and
involve students, staff and faculty in the process of transforming
campuses into sustainable spaces.
