Leuchtenserie mit Hi-Fi-Inspiration
- Normann Copenhagen präsentiert Amp
Für Normann Copenhagen hat der dänische Designer Simon Legald die raffinierte Leuchtenserie Amp geschaffen. Die Serie besteht
aus einer Tischleuchte und zwei Pendelleuchten. Amp zeichnet sich durch seine hochwertigen Materialien aus: Glas und Marmor
sorgen für optische Leichtigkeit und sinnliche Schwere. Eine zugleich nostalgische und moderne Optik.
Die Idee für die Form der Lampe entstand, als der Designer zu Hause ein altes Radio aus den 60er Jahren restaurierte. Bei der
Suche nach einem Ersatzteil für das Radio fiel ihm der Schimmer des Röhrenverstärkers auf. Die einfache, ovale Form und der
Lampenschirm verweisen darauf – ebenso wie der Name „Amp“, die englische Bezeichnung für Röhrenverstärker. Die
Proportionen der Leuchten sind sorgfältig ausgearbeitet. So sind zum Beispiel die Marmorfassungen der beiden Pendelleuchten
kleiner als der Marmorfuß der Tischleuchte, um die Funktion hervorzuheben.
Der Designer hat die funktionellen Details betont, zum Beispiel die Art und Weise, wie der Schirm auf dem Sockel ruht. Die
Verbindung der beiden Naturmaterialien ergibt einen interessanten Kontrast zwischen dem transparenten, leichten Glas und dem
massiven, schweren Marmor. Der Lampenschirm aus Glas ist in Gold oder Rauchfarben erhältlich. Die Leuchte ist mit einer
Fassung oder einem Sockel in effektvollem schwarzen Marmor oder in glamourösem Jadegrün erhältlich, das die natürliche Eleganz
des Materials betont.
Simon Legald erzählt: „Manchmal kann man gar nicht genau sagen, warum eine Idee für ein neues Objekt entsteht. Aber in diesem
Fall stammt die Inspiration direkt von einem Radio und Hi-Fi-Geräten. Das zeigt sich in der Gestaltung von Amp ganz deutlich. Die
runde, durchsichtige Form einer Röhre hat etwas ganz Besonderes. Ich fand, dass sie sehr gut zu einer Lampe passen würde. Ich
habe eine Glassorte gewählt, die unter anderem auch für Sanduhren verwendet wird. Die Form sollte kurvig und tailliert sein. Als
Gegengewicht zum zierlichen Glas habe ich Marmor gewählt. Ich finde, die beiden Materialien passen gut zusammen.“
Die Amp Leuchten werden mit passendem Textilkabel geliefert. Die Tischleuchte hat einen Dimmer. Der Schirm kann zum
Austausch des Leuchtmittels ohne Werkzeug abgenommen werden.

A hi-fi inspired range of lamps
- Normann Copenhagen presents Amp
The Danish designer Simon Legald has designed a sophisticated range of lamps called Amp for Normann Copenhagen. The range
consists of one table lamp and two pendant lamps. Amp is characterised by its high-quality materials of glass and marble that add a
visual fragility and sensuous heaviness. Amp has a nostalgic and at the same time, contemporary feel.
The idea for the lamp's shape came when the designer was restoring an old 60's radio at home. While searching for spare parts for
the radio, he was captivated by the glow that emits from the tube amplifier. The simple oval shape and the glow of the bulb is an
obvious reference to this, just as the name Amp refers to the English term; tube amplifier. The proportions for each lamp have been
carefully designed. For example, the marble sockets of the two pendant lamps are smaller than the marble base of the table lamp to
emphasise their different functions.
The designer has visually highlighted the essential details, such as the way the shade rests on the socket. By combining the two
natural materials, an exciting contrast between the transparent, light glass and the solid, heavy marble is created. The decorative
bulb emits a stunning glow though the either gold or smoke coloured glass lampshades. The lamp is available with a socket or base
in impactful black marble or striking jade green, emphasising the natural colourful elegance of the material.
Simon Legald says: "One can't always define where an idea for a new product comes from. But this time the inspiration was drawn
directly from radio and hi-fi equipment. This is obvious in the design of Amp. There is something special about the round,
transparent shape of a tube amplifier that I thought would translate nicely into a lamp. I opted for the same type of glass used for an
hourglass, as the shape had to be curved and narrowed in. To counterbalance the delicacy of the glass, I used marble. I think that
the two materials work well together."
The Amp Lamps come with matching textile cord, and dimmer switches for the table lamp. The shades can easily be removed when
changing bulbs.

Pour Normann Copenhagen, le designer danois Simon Legald a conçu Amp, une gamme de lampes raffinées comptant une lampe de table
ainsi que deux lustres. La gamme Amp est caractérisée par son allure à la fois nostalgique et contemporaine, ainsi que par ses matériaux
de qualité, le verre et le marbre, qui lui confèrent une certaine fragilité visuelle, contrebalancée par un aspect massif et sensuel.
L'idée de la forme de ces lampes est venue au designer un jour où il restaurait une vieille radio datant des années 1960. Alors qu'il
cherchait des pièces de rechange, il a été séduit par la lueur émise par l'amplificateur à tubes. La forme ovale simple des lampes et la
lumière qu'elles émettent y font ouvertement référence, tout comme le nom Amp, qui reprend l'abréviation anglaise de tube amplifier. Les
proportions simples de ces lampes ont été mûrement réfléchies : par exemple, le culot en marbre des deux suspensions est plus petit
que la base en marbre de la lampe de table, afin de souligner leur fonction.
Le designer a voulu souligner visuellement les détails indispensables, comme par exemple la manière dont l'abat-jour repose sur le culot.
La juxtaposition des deux matériaux naturels, verre léger et transparent et marbre lourd et massif, crée un fascinant contraste. Émettant
une belle lumière, l'abat-jour en verre est disponible en deux coloris, jaune ou fumée,. La base ou le culot en marbre des lampes se
déclinent en un noir saisissant ou un séduisant vert jade, soulignant l'élégance naturelle de ce matériau.
Simon Legald explique : « Parfois, il est impossible de dire avec précision d'où surgit l'idée d'un nouvel objet. Mais cette fois, l'inspiration
m'est directement venue d'une radio et d'appareils hi-fi, ce qui ressort clairement de la gamme Amp. J'ai trouvé que la forme ronde et
transparente de l'amplificateur à tubes avait un je-ne-sais-quoi idéal pour une lampe. Puisque l'abat-jour est arrondi, j'ai sélectionné un
type de verre utilisé entre autres pour les sabliers, puis j'ai choisi le marbre pour contrebalancer la finesse du verre. Je trouve que ces
deux matériaux fonctionnent bien ensemble ».
Les lampes Amp sont dotées d'un câble textile assorti et la lampe de table possède un variateur d'intensité. Aucun outil n'est nécessaire
pour changer l'ampoule : il suffit de soulever l'abat-jour.
