HISTORIQUE
SCARLETT’S FALL est un duo formé par Ruth Childs (AngloAméricaine performeuse/chanteuse/danseuse basée à Genève) et Stéphane
Vecchione (batteur de Velma/musicien/compositeur/performeur basé à Lausanne).
Le projet a commencé très intimement dans la cuisine de Ruth qui a commencé
à écrire/composer des chansons dans un esprit bricolage/intime (voix/garage
band/synthé/i-phone/cuisine/bruitage) et ensuite Stéphane a retravaillé ces
morceaux mais toujours dans un esprit bricolage (avec drums, disto, nappes,
CR78 etc.) Ensuite Clive Jenkins Vic20studio Berlin (producteur pour divers artistes et labels internationaux) nous a proposé de travailler sur nos mixes en
gardant notre esprit du départ.
On a décidé d’aller de l’avant et d’auto-produire notre premier album (12 titres)
comme on voulait garder le spontanéité du projet et assumer notre son lo-fi
mais au même temps produit. Ces morceaux sont courts, radio-style, un peu pop,
un peu electro, un peu bricolé, un peu décalé, un peu gentil, un peu fragile, un
peu crade.... un peu british-humour, un peu American-blonde, un peu love mais
aussi un peu trash. (Notre album est disponible en vinyl, cassette et download.)
Notre live set est Ruth avec microkorgXL/Voix et Stéphane avec batterie/ordinateur/voix.
HISTORY
SCARLETT’S FALL is a duo formed by Ruth Childs (British/
American performance artist/singer/dancer based in Geneva) and Stéphane
Vecchione (Drummer from Velma/musician/composer/performance artist based
in Lausanne).
The project started quite intimately in Ruth’s kitchen - writing and composing
with iphone/garageband/voice/synthesizer/accidental sounds etc. Then Stéphane
reworked these compositions adding drums/atmospheric sounds/distortion and
CR78. Then Clive Jenkins-Vic20studio Berlin (producer for various international
artists and labels ) reworked these original mixes (trying to keep the intimate/
accidental/fragile sound)…
We decide to go ahead and auto-produce our first album (12 tracks) as we
wanted to keep the spontaneity of our project and embrace our produced but
still lo-fi/DIY sound. Our tracks are short, radio-style, atmospheric, a little pop,
a little electro, kind of experimental, slightly strange and fragile, maybe a bit too
nice or kind of trash...with mini doses of British humor and American/cowgirl
style. (Our Album is available on vinyl, cassette and download.)
Our live set is Ruth with microkorgXL/LeadVocals and Stéphane with drums/
computer/vocals.
BIOGRAPHIE
R & S se sont rencontrés en 2013 alors qu’ils jouaient dans une comédie
musicale sur le thème de la moto.
Le soir de la première,
R est tombée dans les escaliers d’un théâtre en courant
en talons pour arriver à son sound check, et a réussi à casser son micro sans-fil
et son violon.

smurf et du vélo, pour ensuite enchaîner avec la batterie et le théâtre, puis des
performances baguettes et de la mise en son.

BIOGRAPHY
R & S were cast in the same motorcycle musical in 2013.
On opening night
R fell down the stairs in a theater running in heels to get to
her sound check and managed to break her hands-free microphone and her

in the show. The song ended up being cut, and so R & S decided to form a
band (and ditch the violin). Something that R had been planning on doing for

R is also a dancer, she started in the USA with tiaras and tutus, then modern dance and breathing, then performance art and other extreme practices.
S is also a performer, he started in YVERDON with smurf moves and
a bike, then acting and drumming, drumstick performances and sound design.
