La prochaine édition de Babel Med Music se déroulera du 29 au 31 mars 2012 au Dock des Suds, à
Marseille.
Pendant 3 jours, artistes et professionnels des quatre coins du monde se rassemblent pour développer
leurs activités, détecter de nouvelles tendances, échanger … autour de rencontres, conférences et
débats.
Les artistes retenus pour participer à ce salon se produisent devant des programmateurs du monde
entier, agents artistiques, labels présents sur le marché, mais également devant un public curieux de
découvrir de nouveaux talents (15.000 personnes).
Fort de son succès croissant, Babel Med Music se positionne comme un marché adapté aux attentes
des différents professionnels :
• présence de l’EFWMF, plus grand réseau européen rassemblant les principaux festivals de musique du
monde www.efwmf.org
• invitation de plus de 4000 festivals et programmateurs d’Europe et d’ailleurs
• espace marché : 250 structures représentées sur 150 stands, environ 2 500 professionnels venus
d’une soixantaine de pays
• des conférences, débats et projections
• un espace festif de 5 000m², ouvert au public à partir de 19h, composé de 3 scènes programmant 10
concerts chaque soir
• 5 prix décernés à des artistes d'exception

The next edition of Babel Med Music will take place from the 29th to the 31th of March 2012, at the
‘Dock des Suds’ venue in Marseille.
For 3 days, artists and professionals from the four corners of the world shall gather to develop their
activities, detect new trends and exchange ideas and views within the scope of meetings, conferences
and debates.
The artists selected to take part in this trade show will perform in front of international festival
directors and programming managers, artistic agents, current label corporations, as well as a curious
public avid to discover new musical talents (15.000 people).
Building on its ever-increasing success, Babel Med Music positions itself as a professional marketplace
adapted to the expectations of the various industry actors:
• presence of the EFWMF (European Forum of World Music Festivals), the largest European network for
world music festivals www.efwmf.org
• invitation of over 4000 festival representatives and programming managers from Europe and
elsewhere
• marketplace forum: 250 organizations promoted through 150 stands, approximately 2 500
professionals from around 60 countries.
• organization of conferences, debates and projections
• the forum also doubles as a festival with a 5000m² concert area open to the public from 7pm
onwards, including 3 different stages which allow for 10 concerts each evening
• 5 music awards bestowed on exceptional world music artists
