The research group “organometallic heterocycles” is part of the laboratory of organometallic
and molecular materials (UMR 6226-CNRS) comprised of 5 research groups. The research
topics are based on molecular engineering, functional supramolecular molecules with
interesting optical properties and magnetic and conductive materials. One of new projects,
developed in the research group “organometallic heterocycles”, aims to propose the synthesis
of new coordination polymers which are thermally and chemically stable and present
luminescence properties. These polymers will be based on a combination of lanthanide (III)
ions and methylenepyrane cores. In fact, based on recent developments, the polymers formed
from heterocyclic ligands linked to a lanthanide show favorable luminescence properties
under UV radiation. Some of these systems have shown to be useful for applications such as
LED, light converter, anti-imitation and biomedical sound.
Mission:
The group “organometallic heterocycles“ at Lannion offers a one-year post-doctoral position
to work on the synthesis of new lanthanide complexes with electro-active ligands as potential
multifunctional molecular materials. This project will be in collaboration with the Laboratory
of solid state and Materials chemistry from INSA of Rennes (UMR 6226). The originality of
this project is linked to the choice of the methylenepyrane as ligand. The methylenepyrane
core with carboxylic acid functionalities for lanthanide coordination should facilitate the
structural interaction in the polymers.
The goal of the post-doc will be to synthesize and characterize a variety of new
methylenepyrane cores. We need for this position a skilled organic chemist with a strong
motivation
to

partners
of
this
project.
Experience in luminescence properties and polymers can be appreciated.
Candidates Profil:
No restrictions of citizenship apply. Candidates must hold an internationally-recognized PhDequivalent degree in a field related to organic or organometallic chemistry. For all candidates
a work experience abroad of 6 months in the past year will be asked.
