Title of the offer: Post-doctoral position in Medicinal Chemistry
Title of the offer: Post-doctoral position in Medicinal Chemistry, Montpellier Welcoming Laboratory: UMR 5247 CNRS – University Montpellier 2 Research Team: Nucleosides and Phosphorylated Effectors Head of Team: Professor C. Périgaud Person in charge of the project: Dr S. Peyrottes Founding: Post-doctoral position funded by an FRM grant, available for 12 months (eventually renewable) and starting from April 2013. Salary : ~1800 € net / monthly Subject: The aim of the present project is to better understand the mechanism of Vγ9Vδ2 T cell activation at the molecular and cellular levels and to use the acquired knowledge for the analysis of these T cells in the course of immune response to viral infections and/or cancers. The project requires the synthesis of a small library of nucleotide derivatives. This is certainly the most challenging issue; indeed despite an increasing demand for phosphorylated biological tools, their synthesis and purification is still complex, expensive and timeconsuming. To this end a novel synthetic methodology involving supported chemistry will be developed. The candidate will join the academic team (10 persons) and be involved in the development of the synthetic methodology as well as the design of the nucleotide’s library in relation with the biologist team. We are seeking for a highly-qualified and motivated postdoctoral fellow. Additional Information can be gleaned at (http://www.ibmm.univ-montp1.fr/NucleosidesEffecteurs,415.html) Candidate Profile: The following points are considered mandatory: • The applicant should hold a Ph.D. for less than 3 years. • The applicant should have a well-established experience in medicinal and organic chemistry; knowledge in the field of organophosphorus and/or nucleoside chemistry, eventually supported synthesis, will be required. • Experience in synthesis and purification of phosphorylated biomolecules, NMR (1H, 13C and 31P), HPLC, and LC-MS/MS. Languages: English and/or French Application procedure: Please send your application by e-mail only ([email protected]) including a CV, list of publications and at least 3 references before March 20th, 2013, indicating in the subject of the message “For the attention of Dr S. Peyrottes”
