Safety Instructions
General
• All transportation, storage, assembly, installation, connection, comissioning and service
work must only be carried out by qualified skilled personnel taking the following into
account the relevant documentation, regulations and requirements pertaining to the
equipment concerned as well as national and regional safety and accident prevention
regulations.
Qualified skilled personnel are persons who have a relevant vocational qualification and
have proper knowledge of the execution of the above-mentioned work.
• Read the documentation carefully before installation and comissioning. Serious injury
to persons and equipment may result through improper use of the device or incorrect
installation or operation. All technical specifications and conditions must be adhered to
in all cases.
• The device contains electrostatic sensitive components, which may be damaged by
improper handling. Discharge yourself before you touch the device. Avoid contact to
high isolating materials (e.g. synthetic fibres, plastic films, etc.).
• Control and power connectors may be energized even when the motor does not move.
• All electrical connectors of the device must not be neither plugged in nor disconnected
under voltage since electric arcs may demage persons and connectors.
• Do not touch components which are energized during operation immediately after disconnection from supply. Wait after disconnection of the device from the power supply at
least 6 minutes before you touch components which are energized during operation.
The DC-Bus capacitor remains charged to dangerous voltages up to 6 minutes after
power-off. This time could be higher depending on the external power supply. For your
safety, measure the DC-Bus voltage and wait until it is lower than 40V.
Proper Use
The device ECOSTEP is intended for use in commercial equipment and comply with the
aplicable standards and regulations and meets the requirements of the Low Voltage
Directive 2006/95/EC. All technical specifications and permissible conditions mentioned
in the documentation must be adhered to in all cases. The device ECOSTEP is a
component intended for installation in machinery. Comissioning (starting operation in
accordance with the intended use) is prohibited until such time as the machine’s conformity
with EMC Directive 2004/108/EC and Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC has been
established (note EN 60204).
The following are prohibited, unless expressly provided otherwise:
• use in hazardous areas
• use near oils, acids, gases, vapours, dust, radiation, etc.

Guidelines for Mounting and Installation
Upon mounting and installation, note the following points:
• ensure that the equipment is installed on a suitable, low-vibration substructure or in
an electric cabinet,
• allow unhindered ventilation,
• make sure there is sufficient clearance between adjacent units,
• be careful when handling components to avoid injury to persons or equipment (do not
touch, bend or damage electronic components and contacts, do not change isolating
clearances).
Electrical Connection
All installation instructions mentioned in the documentation must be considered. All work
must be carried out only when
• the electric equipment is disconnected from the power supply and prevented from
being switched on accidentally,
• you have double-checked that the equipment is de-energized
• you have ensured that any additional monitoring and protective features are properly
installed.
When connecting the equipment to the power supply, ensure that
• the applicable standards and regulations are complied with,
• the power connections are permanently secured,
• the EMC-compliant installation (e.g. screening, earthing, arrangement of filters and
laying of cables) is realized.
Note that the machine manufacturer is responsible for the complience of the final machine
with all limits of the valid EMC regulations.
Note: Use 60/75°C copper wire only. Use class 1 wire only. The accessory cables
provided by Jenaer Antriebstechnik fulfill these requirements.
Operation
Do not disable monitoring and protective features during the trial run. Covers, electric
cabinet doors etc. must always be closed during operation. In the event of changes in
the operating state, switch off the equipment in case of doubt and try to establish the
cause. Contact the manufacturer if necessary.
Note: Motor overtemperature sensing is not provided by the drive.
Further documentation for software commissioning and operation
For software commissioning of the ECOSTEP200 use the ECO Studio software and
follow the guidelines in the ECO Studio help or in the “ECO Studio Operation Manual”
which is provided on the CD-ROM delivered together with the device.

Informations concernant la sécurité
Généralités
• Tous travaux de transport, stockage, installation, montage, raccordement, mise en route, et
maintenance ne doivent exclusivement être effectués que par du personnel qualifié. Pour
cela, la documentation, les directives spécifiques à la machine, les directives nationales et
régionales concernant la sécurité et la prévention des accidents doivent être respectées.
Les „Personnel qualifié „ sont des personnes qui disposent de qualification professionnelle
pertinente et qui sont familiarisés avec les travaux énoncés ci-dessus.
• Avant l’installation et la mise en service, lisez la documentation présente. Une mauvaise
manipulation ou ne manipulation impropre peut entrainer des blessures ou des
dommages aux personnes ou au matériel. Respectez impérativement les données
techniques et les indications concernant le raccordement.
• L’appareil contient des composants sensibles aux décharges électrostatiques qui peuvent
être endommagés par une mauvaise manipulation. Déchargez de votre corps avant de
toucher l’appareil, par exemple en touchant une surface conductrice reliée à la terre.
Évitez tout contact avec des matériaux hautement isolants (par exemple, les films
plastiques, les fibres synthétiques). Placez l’appareil sur une surface conductrice.
• Assurez-vous que les alimentations électriques de l’appareil soient hors tension lors de
la connexion ou de la déconnection, des arcs électriques et des pointes de tension
pourraient se produire qui pourraient provoquer des dommages sur des personnes ou
du matériel ou endommager des composants.
• Après la coupure de l’appareil, attendez au moins 6 minutes avant pouvoir toucher des parties
conductrices d’électricité de l’installation ou de défaire des raccordements électriques. Les
condensateurs de circuits intermédiaires peuvent encore conduire des tensions dangereuses.
Suivant l’alimentation, cette durée peut être plus longue. Par mesure de sécurité, mesurez la
tension dans le circuit intermédiaire et attendez que la tension soit inférieure à 40V.
Utilisation Conforme
L’appareil est exclusivement réservé à un usage sur des installations industrielles ou
professionnelles il répond aux normes et directives en vigueur et répond à directive 2006/
95/EG concernant les basses tensions. Toutes les indications concernant les données
techniques et des conditions concernant le lieu d’implantation doivent obligatoirement être
respectées. L’appareil est destiné à l’implantation dans des machines.
Mise en service (mise en fonctionnement dans les conditions d’utilisation prévues) est
interdite jusqu’à ce qu’il soit prouvé que la machine respecte la directive CEM 2004/108/
CE et que le produit final est conforme à la directive machines 2006/42/CE (EN 60204).
Si l’appareil n’est pas spécifiquement prévu, l’usage est interdite en:
• Zone Ex
• Dans un environnement d’huile, d’acides, de gaz, de vapeurs, de rayonnements, etc.

Directives pour mise en place et montage
Lors de l’installation et du montage, il faut particulièrement veiller à
•

Un support monté sur un dispositif antivibratoire adapté, une armoire électrique,
Une aération libre,
Un espace suffisant jusqu’aux appareils à proximité,
Une manipulation soigneuse des composants et des câbles pour éviter tout
dommages aux personnes et aux biens (ne pas toucher les composants électriques
et électroniques ni les contacts, ne pas endommager ou plier, ne pas modifier les
distances d’isolation, ne pas endommager les câbles)
Raccordement électrique
Respectez impérativement les informations concernant l’installation contenues
dans la notice d’utilisation. Tous les travaux ne peuvent être exécutés que si
• L’installation électrique est mise hors tension et sécurisée contre la remise en route
• L’absence de tension a été vérifiée et
• Qu’il a été validé que des systèmes de surveillance et de protection ont été installés
professionnellement.
Lors de la connexion il faut veiller à
• Les réglementations et normes en vigueur ont été respectées
• Une connexion électrique fixe et sûre soit installée et
• installation conforme à CEM est effectuée (par exemple, le blindage, mise à la terre,
présence de filtres et pose des câbles).
Notez que le respect des valeurs-limites fixés par la législation sur la CEM relève de
la responsabilité du fabricant de la machines ou de l’installation.
Notez: N’utiliser que des câbles à âme cuivre qui résistent à une temperature de 60/
75°C, classe 1 seulement. Les câbles proposés par Jenaer Antriebstechnik dans son
programme d’àccessoires, respectent ces exigences.
Operation
N’ouvrez pas l’appareil. Ne pas désactiver des dispositifs de surveillance ou de
sécurité, même en mode essais. Pendant l’utilisation, les capots, portes d’armoires
électriques etc. doivent rester fermées. Les modifications par rapport au mode de
fonctionnement normal doivent être coupées en cas de doute et la cause
recherchée. En cas de besoin, se renseigner auprès du fabricant.
Notez: L’appareil ne détecte pas surchauffe du moteur.
