The Comprehensible Classroom’s JE M’APPELLE ROMAN an embedded reading for beginning French students by Martina Bex Copyright © 2014 Martina Bex ● www.martinabex.com ● The Comprehensible Classroom INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE TEACHER NOTE: If you find any errors or typos in this document, please notify me immediately by emailing [email protected] (make sure my middle initial ‘e’ is included!). I will correct the mistake immediately and re-upload the file. Thank you! There are several different formats and versions of the same reading contained in this file: (a)On pages 2-3, there is a storybook that contains three leveled readings. To use it, print out pages 3-4 and make double sided copies. Then, instruct your students to fold the papers in half, with the page with “Nom___” as the cover. They should reach each page in order and answer the questions that are included. A final set of questions is on the last page of the booklet. • If you like the leveled format of these readings, please check out the Embedded Reading website to learn more about this instructional strategy developed by Laurie Clarcq and Michele Whaley: www.embeddedreading.com (b)On page 5, there is a projectable version of the final (most detailed) version of the reading. (c)On pages 6-7, there is a photocopiable version of the final (most detailed) version of the reading along with comprehension questions. Make double sided copies and cut them in half so that each student receives a 1/2 page reading and comprehension questions. Thank you to Megan Murphy for proof-reading this file for me!
