REPORT OF WORK
1994
During the summer of 1994 a continuation of stripping
and washing away of overburden was carried out. Nore amethyst
veins were uncovered and sampled. Colour varied from clear
quartz to purple crystals, however, there was iron oxide on
the surface of many pieces making them difficult to clean.
Drilling and blasting of the showing revealled the
prescence of disseminated pyrite approximately 2* - 3* wide
bordering the amethyst occurrence. Assays revealed no gold
present.
Blasting to a depth of 5* - 6* indicated the amethyst
veins to be cleaner and crystals of better quality. Some
samples were taken to the Department of Mines in Thunder Bay
and interest was encouraging, so continued work is planned
for 1995.

In the fall of 1993 aa amethyst showing was discovered
on what is now claim * 1183530. During the summer of 1994
manual stripping and washing was carried out. The amethyst
occurrence was on the face of a granite ledge approximately
4'-5* high and 20' in length. The crystals ranged in size
from 1/4" to 1.4" across and varied in colour from white to
deep purple. The deep coloured crystals were beyond reach
at the bottom of the ledge. Removal of overburden at the
bottom of the ledge will have to be done to extr.ict any
amethyst. Overburden on top of the ledge was removed to
locate any parallel veins. Mowever the heavy layer of sand
and the presence of numerous tree stumps made it difficult to
do this by manual labour. It was decided to wait until the
summer of 1995 and bring in mechanical equipment to further
explore this showing. The amethyst vein was traced to the
northeast along a ravine for approximately 200 metres.
Crystals ranged from 1/4" to 3/4" and were deep purple in
colour. These showings were also on the face of ledges. These
ledges will require extensive removal of overburden to
determine the width of the vein or veins. The loose boulders
that are believed to have fallen off the face of these ledges
contain massive amethyst crystals. Work in 1995 will
hopefully determine the .narket quality of the this showing.
Drilling and blasting was done on the showing and will
be documented on an application for submission for assessment
work credit for W. Richardson at a later date.
