REGULATIONS
1. GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 The International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles (FILA) has entrusted the
Thai Amateur Wrestling Association with the organization of Asian Senior Wrestling Championship (FSFW-GR) 2009
1.2 The Championship will take place according to FILA rules and regulations.
1.3 The Championship will be prepared and organized by the Thai Amateur Wrestling Association
and Organizing Committee based in Pattaya.
1.4 The Championship will be held in Pattaya, Thailand from May 2 - 7, 2009.
2. DATE & LOCATION
2.1 The competition will take place in “ABC Hall” at the Ambassador Hotel in Pattaya
from May 2-7, 2009 at the following address:

2.2 The Wrestling hall has a seating capacity of 1,000 for spectators, wrestlers, coaches, officials,
referees, and journalists, including other necessary facilities.
2.3 The program for the competition is enclosed.
3. PARTICIPATION
3.1 Participation in the Asian Senior Wrestling Championship for FS-FW-GR 2009 is open to all
Asian National Wrestling Federations affiliated with FILA that have updated their dues.
3.2 Each Asian National Wrestling Federation has the right to participate with a maximum
of
one wrestler per weight category per style
3.3 The composition of the official delegation and the wrestlers will be in accordance with the
following chart that has been laid out by FILA as follows:

This composition is valid for each style.
The number of referee members stipulated above is the required minimum.
A participating Federation can present up to three referees for category I.
All referees who are authorized to work will be accredited with the same conditions as the
participants.
4. ENTRY
4.1 In order for entries to be considered as valid, they must be sent to the Thai Amateur Wrestling
Association (TAWA) in official forms within the time limit set as follows:
a) Preliminary entries must be received by the Secretary of TAWA before March 2, 2009.
b) Entries by name must be received by the Secretary of TAWA before April 2, 2009.
c) Entries for the Finals must be received at noon on the day of the weigh-in for the category
and style.
d) In order to make an ID card, all of the participant must send one personal photograph
measuring 2 inches with the name written on the back, country, weight, category, and style.
Then it must be sent to TAWA before April 2, 2009 (together with the nominating entry
form).
e) Visa applications must be sent to TAWA before April 2, 2009

5. OFFICIALS
5.1 Only the FILA referee for category I may work in the competition.
5.2 Each referee must present his valid license for the year.
5.3 The referee must wear the entries by name.
6. TECHNICAL CONDITIONS
6.1 The competition will take place according to FILA Regulations.
6.2 A maximum of three “1” International category Referees per country are allowed to officiate
Asian Senior Wrestling Championships (FS-FW-GR) 2009 under the same financial conditions as the
wrestlers. Countries having no category I International referee can participate with their Cat.
6.3 Each referee should provide his license with valid FILA stamps for 2009.
6.4 Wearing the FILA prescribed uniform for the referees is mandatory.
6.5 The competition will take place in 7 Senior weight categories:
55,60,66,74,84,96,120 kg. (GR,FS)
48,51,55,59,63,67,72 kg. (FW)
6.6 Beach Wrestling

BWW cat 70,70 ++
6.7 Two mats approved by FILA will be installed for the competition.
6.8 Three days prior to the departure date of the wrestlers from their countries to
the Championships, each wrestler must undergo a medical examination, and the results
of
which must be recorded on the FILA competition license.
6.9 Each wrestler must undergo a medical examination one (1) hour before weigh–in according to
the competition schedule.
6.10 The Organizing Federation will bear the first aid costs during the competition. The annual
license – stamps issued by FILA will cover the hospital costs for the participating wrestlers in the event of
an accident. (See the FILA circular letter, excerpt from insurance and claim advice that is received from
FILA at the beginning of each year) If an insured person wishes to undergo a medical examination or
treatment, which is not the consequence of an accident during the championship, then the costs for such
medical examination or treatment should be taken on by the person concerned or his National
Federation. The reimbursement of these expenses can under no circumstances be claimed from
insurance.
6.11 The team classification will be determined by the positives obtained during the individual

competition. Wresters in 1 – 10 place will receive 10 points to 1 point in order. If there is an equal
number of points for the final classification, then the gold, silver and bronze medals will be taken into
account to determine the winner.
7. AWARDS
7.1 The organizing committee will be held responsible for the following awards in each weight
category:
Gold medal, certificate and mascot for the winner.

Silver medal, certificate and mascot for 2 place.

Bronze medal, certificate and mascot for 3 place.
7.2 The first three teams will receive special cups. All participants will receive a certificate for
participation.
8. OFFICIAL CEREMONIES
8.1 Attendance of all teams in the opening and closing ceremonies is mandatory.

8.2 During the award ceremony, the flags of the wrestlers in 1 – 3 place will be hoisted.
8.3 The national anthem of the winner will be played in his honor.
8.4 The countries concerned with this should provide the organizing committee with a 120X150cm
flag, and its National Anthem (CD or tape).

9. FINANCIAL CONDITIONS
9.1 Regarding the delegations composed in the FILA regulations provided, the participation fee will
be 130CHF per day / per person.
9.2 Regarding the delegations outside the criteria fixed in section 3.3 of the present regulations, as
well as the delegations or persons staying longer than scheduled, they must pay
a fee fixed by the
organizing committee. Namely, 150CHF per person per day.
9.3 The chiefs of the delegations must pay their financial obligations to the organizing committee
upon arrival, and must meet all accreditation requirements.
9.4 FILA Commission members who are called to meet during the Championship will be accredited
under the same conditions as the teams that are present.
10. JOURNALISTS
10.1 Accreditation forms for journalists are enclosed within, and must be returned to the Thai
Amateur Wrestling Association (TAWA) together with a valid passport before March 2, 2009.
10.2 Journalists will have at their disposal a press center in April of 2009. The office hours for the
press center are from 8:00am – 8:00pm everyday. The organizer won’t be responsible for the journalists’
accommodations and meals.
10.3 A video recording for educational purposes will be made following a contractual agreement with
FILA, and will have accreditation by the organizers. No numerical video cameras will be accepted in the
competition hall without these items being approved.
11. ACCOMMODATIONS, MEALS AND TRANSPORTATION
11.1 The organizing committee will provide transportation from the airport to the hotel.

11.2 Meals with a caloric value (i.e. according to the FILA regulations) will be served to the wrestlers,
coaches, officials, and referees in the restaurant of their residential hotel.
11.3 All delegations must bear the travel costs from their countries to Suwannabhumi Airport. The
organizing Committee will ensure local transportation from Suwannabhumi Airport to the residential hotel
provided by the fixed deadline.
11.4 Training and sauna facilities will be available to all participants.
11.5 Chiefs of delegations will be responsible for all possible damages that arise concerning their
members.
12. MISCELLANEOUS
12.1 Competitors who require visas to go to the Championship must contact the Thai embassy or
Thai consular in their country of residence.
