Lancement d’un projet mobilisateur à Wentworth
Wentworth, le 14 mars 2011 – Le député d’Argenteuil, monsieur David Whissell, est heureux
d’annoncer au nom du gouvernement du Québec, une aide financière de 43 767$ pour le
réaménagement de la patinoire extérieure et la construction d’un bâtiment récréatif dans le
canton de Wentworth. Cette aide financière représente 50% des coûts totaux de construction de
ce projet qui s’élèvent à 87 534$.
« Je suis heureux de participer aujourd’hui au lancement de ce projet fort mobilisateur pour la
communauté de Wentworth. Les sports et les loisirs sont indispensables à la santé et à
l’épanouissement des citoyens et les importantes améliorations qui seront apportées assureront la
durabilité à long terme de cette installation. Je suis persuadé que cette annonce plaira à plusieurs
et encouragera les citoyens à maintenir une vie saine et active », a déclaré le député, M.
Whissell.
La présidente du Centre récréatif de Wentworth, madame Lois Armitage est fière de procéder au
lancement de son projet de longue haleine. «Concrètement, nous allons procéder à la démolition
de l’ancienne patinoire, à la préparation du sol, ainsi qu’à l’acquisition et la pose de nouvelles
bandes au pourtour de la nouvelle patinoire. Parallèlement à ces travaux de réaménagement,
nous construirons une nouvelle bâtisse, qui servira à la fois pour le rangement de matériel, et
pour accueillir les usagers de la patinoire, qui pourront l’utiliser comme vestiaire », a ajouté
Mme Armitage.
Pour sa part le maire du canton de Wentworth se dit ravi de cette importante annonce pour sa
municipalité et ses citoyens. «Il s’agit d’un projet rassembleur, qui donnera accès à nos citoyens
à un équipement sportif bien aménagé, ce qui cadre avec les objectifs de saines habitudes de vie
identifiés dans le plan local d’action dont s’est doté le canton de Wentworth, dans le cadre du
Laboratoire rural « Ma Santé en valeur ». En mon nom et en celui des membres du conseil
municipal du canton de Wentworth, je tiens à remercier monsieur David Whissell, député
d’Argenteuil, pour son support dans la conduite de ce dossier», a mentionné M. Kasprzyk.
« Au cours des dernières années, nous avons muni nos municipalités d’équipements sportifs
adéquats et des installations sécuritaires afin de s’assurer que nos familles bougent et se tiennent
en forme. Pensons aux patinoires extérieures de Gore et de Grenville, au terrain de soccer
football synthétique dernière nos deux écoles secondaires à Lachute ou à la piscine Ayers à
Lachute, pour ne nommer que ceux-ci. Il s’agit d’investissements à long terme dont nos familles
et nos générations futures pourront bénéficier et qui contribuent au développement de notre belle
région », a conclu le député d’Argenteuil.

MNA Whissell announces funding for Wentworth
Wentworth, March 14th, 2011 – Argenteuil Deputy David Whissell, is pleased to announce on
behalf of the Government of Quebec, that the Wentworth Recreative Center will be benefitting
from a $ 43,767 grant, to be used to rebuild an outdoor ice rink and to construct a new recreation
building adjacent to the ice rink in the Township of Wentworth. This project is expected to cost
$87 534 and this funding announcement represents 50% of the total construction costs of the
project.

The President of the Wentworth Recreative Centre, Lois Armitage is a proud participant in this
long-term project. "Concretely, we will proceed with the demolition of the old rink, soil
preparation, and acquisition and installation of new boards around the new ice rink. At the same
time, we will construct a new building that will serve both to store equipment and to
accommodate the users of the rink, who can use the building as a dressing room, "said Mrs.
Armitage.
For his part, Wentworth Mayor Ed Kasprzyk said he is delighted by this important
announcement and the impact it will have on the municipality and its citizens. "This is a unifying
project, which will enable our citizens to attain access to well-equipped sports facilities. This
program is consistent with the goals of a healthy lifestyle, as identified in the local action plan
that was developed by the Municipality of Wentworth, in conjunction with « Ma Santé en
valeur ». On my behalf and on behalf of the Wentworth Municipal Council, I would like to
thank Argenteuil’s deputy, David Whissell, for his support in the conduct of this matter, ", said
Kasprzyk.
"In recent years we have worked to adequately equip our municipal sports facilities and to ensure
that these facilities are safe, so that our families can begin moving and getting in shape. In order
to accomplish this, we have built outdoor ice rinks in Gore and Grenville; we have built an
outdoor multipurpose soccer and football field, with a synthetic surface, behind the two
secondary schools in Lachute and we have repaired the Ayers swimming pool, in Lachute. These
long-term investments will benefit our families and our future generations and they have
contributed to the development of our beautiful region, "said MNA Whissell.
