La police rwandaise reconvoque Mme Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza
Nous venons d’apprendre que la police rwandaise vient de convoquer pour la deuxième fois dans
moins d’une semaine la Présidente des FDU-Inkingi Mme Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza dans ces
locaux de Kacyiru. Comme la fois passée, le motif de cette convocation n’ayant pas été précisé.
Elle doit se présenter demain à 14:00.
Les FDU-Inkingi s’inquiètent de ces convocations à répétition qui semblent préparer l’opinion à
une arrestation politique. Maintenir Mme Ingabire Victoire Umuhoza dans un état de semi-liberté
est aussi une stratégie de freiner l’enregistrement administratif de son parti politique, FDU
INKINGI, pour afin l’empêcher de se présenter aux élections présidentielles d’août 2010. Il est clair
que cette instruction n’a rien de pénal et qu’elle est le prolongement d’un procès politique initié
par le Président de la République lors qu’il a, dans sa dernière conférence de presse, ordonné des
poursuites.
Ces persécutions incessantes doublées de menaces d’arrestations arbitraires découragent
beaucoup de rwandais qui voudraient rentrer d’exil pour contribuer à la construction de leur pays.
Les FDU-Inkingi demandent enfin au gouvernement rwandais de s’abstenir de toutes ces actions
visant à harceler la présidente des FDU-Inkingi ou à annihiler toute chance d’un processus
politique pacifique.

The Rwandan Police grill once again Mrs. Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza
We have learnt that the Rwandan Police has summoned for the second time, in less than a week,
the Chair of UDF ( United Democratic Forces) to their offices in Kacyiru. Like the last time, the
grounds have not been disclosed. She is ordered to report on Tuesday 16 February 2010 at 14:00.
UDF INKINGI is concerned about the relentless police grillings which, apparently, are preparing the
public opinion for a politically motivated arrest. Last week she was questionned for about 4 hours.
This half-freedom status is a strategy to delay the registration of the party UDF INKINGI, so as to
ensure that it does not participate in the presidential elections planned for August 2010. It is
obvious that the case is politically motivated and has nothing to do with the law. Its aim is to solve
a political problem rather than to achieve justice because it was initiated by the President of
Rwanda during his latest press conference when he threatened to activate criminal laws in this
respect.
Unrelenting persecution, coupled with threats of arbitrary arrest are discouraging many rwandans
from returning to the country to contribute to its development. The United Democratic Forces call
on the Rwandan government to end all acts of harassments towards the Chair of UDF Inkingi
aimed at blocking all attempts to initiate a peacefull political process in Rwanda.
