Objectives: The contemporary states are simultaneously confronted with
economic and digital globalization. Broadly speaking scientific knowledge support
innovation and is directly involved in economical, industrial and cultural
developments
In such a context, controlling information flows throughout the processes/systems
of analysis and production of added value information (elaborated information)
gives a real competitive advantage in decision making.
The analysis of informative practises in the different countries shows the
importance of research on computerized processes of analysis based on
mathematical methods (statistics, data analysis…) and linguistic ones applied to
the different fields of science.
The latest studies tend to focus on the introduction of methods from cognitive
sciences applied to the analysis of large amount of data some of them available
from Internet. (cloud, big data, Internet of things, etc.)
All these researches are multi-disciplinary since they involve different
competences. They need to find a place in the French academic research, thanks to
the contribution of French works in the field of library studies , scientometrics and
bibliometrics, as well as the various International meetings and workshops
organized in France1 and abroad.
The symposium scheduled by the FRES is an opportunity for the University of
Corsica to underline the importance of the Information Sciences field and to create
among the different actors a collaborative network. This will comfort the position
of information science in France and also this will aggregate the various
competences, starting point of the development of a national think tank.
Main topics :
- Developing scientific processing methods and analysing digitized information
flows
- Cooperative network systems
- Using information for the economic development
Key-words: regional development ; bibliometrics ; scientific information
analysis ; patent information analysis ; competitive intelligence
