Description
Only 18 exemplars of the C Sprint Coupé "Supergioiello" (Super Jewel) were built by Ghia in 1953/ 1954. Only
three are known to still exist.The Alfa Romeo 1900 was designed by Orazio Satta in 1950. It was introduced
as a sedan in 1950, and a year later, the sedan was followed by the more sporting 1900C Sprint coupé, which
rode on a five-inch shorter wheelbase.The 1900 C Sprint Coupé presented here is the last exemplar
coachworked by "Ghia". It was first delivered to Spain in 1954. His first two Spanish owners were
enthusiastic drivers and participate with the car in numerous competitions, like e.g. Monte Carlo Rallye in
1955. Most of the time the car were located in Spain and Portugal. It underwent an extensive restoration in
Italy by its current owner. Many historical photographs and papers document the race history as a well as
the extensive restoration of this very rare and elegant Alfa Romeo!
