Boulevard, Los Angeles 9, California, USA.
Stand C.42.
Highlighting this company's exhibit is a new
turboprop engine, displayed for the first time.
This engine culminates an extensive development programme which has produced more
than 9,000 small gas turbines for world-wide
applications. Also shown for the first time is a
mock-up of the environmental control system
developed for Project Gemini, the two-man,
two-week space vehicle. This system creates an
artificial environment for the astronauts while
they orbit the Earth at temperatures and
pressures so extreme they could only survive
for seconds if unprotected.
Garrett's central air data system for the
F-104 is shown. This system serves as the
nerve centre for all electronic systems of this
aircraft. In all, a total of 45 components and
systems are on display.
Parmi les quaranle cinq equipements exposes,

and gives reasonable performance at low
throttle settings to ensure powerplant reliability and low operating cost. Four-door
access is a feature. The wing is a cantilever
of exceptionally strong construction; outer
panels are bolted on and may be removed with
ailerons, if necessary, then replaced without
re-rigging. The standard Lycoming O-540
engine gives a minimum cruising speed of
129 m.p.h.

The Connectors Division of the F.R.B.
company is exhibiting various types of connectors, printed circuits and modular connectors. The company state that the versatile
modular connectors enable a customer to
choose and order any connector in which the
number of contacts may reach 160 without the
need for an extractor, and even 400, with an
extractor.
