Type 14450
Type 14450 Precision Relief valve The Type 14450 precision relief valve has been designed to provide accurate pressure control in systems operating at pressures up to 700 bar and flows of up to 45 litres/min. The floating poppet design enhanced by the use of linear bearings produces characteristics which are non flow dependent and ensures long life with repeatable per formance. Floating poppet design produces reseating at 95% of cracking pressure or better; allowing use of hardened seats for durability; the main spring load is not transmitted to the seat, thus reducing distortion and wear; design characteristics are not flow dependent; producing a near linear response to increasing flow; long life and repeatable performance are ensured through the use of hardened elements operating in a linear bearing cage; installation and removal of system pipework is simplified by the right angled configuration. 0353 II 2 G T4 This range of relief valves conforms to Directive 94/9/EC relating to equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres and is ATEX (ATmosphere EXplosible) certified. These valves also conform to the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/ EC. All valves are CE marked and supplied with a test certificate plus a declaration of conformity. Marshalsea Hydraulics has been assessed by SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA and certified as meeting the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 for the design, development, manufacture and servicing of hydraulic pumps, relief valves and intensifiers. The following describes the testing procedure. 1 Ensure compliance with internal procedure — safe system of work for manual test rigs. 2 Visually examine for external defects, damaged threads, etc. 3 Connect to the test rig as shown. Reference standard guage Budenberg manual comparator 4 Unscrew adjuster to minimum setting. 5 Raise pressure until valve functions — note performance of reseat. Repeat in increments of 2,000 PSI to the valve’s upper limit. Reseat must remain within 5% of cracking pressure at all times. Valves that fail to reseat within 5% are to be reworked. 6 Hold on pressure for approximately 2 minutes. Check for pressure decay and leakage. 7 Remove from test rig and immediately plug both ports. 8 Ensure that Test Certificate log is completed and mark valve with the information contained on the production documentation. Affix CE mark. 9 Pass to inspection.
