AID INTERNATIONAL CHRISTIAN WOMEN OF VISION(Aichriswov)is an association of Bamenda . It work in formation ,
sensibilization, financement, assistance, of the women, among its action ,there is the project of socio economic
empowerment of poor widows that went out from June 2000.
The group noticed that underprivileged are suffering, that widows are generally marginalized in the society,. It also
noticed that orphans and street children are marginalized too. In the town, also, there was that redundancy of
unemployment and high death rate caused by AIDS and poverty. So the AI Christian decide in income generating
activities, to provide them an initial capital. By this the group hope to improve the living conditions of the poor, to created
jobs and to improve socially and economically. They denuded their programmes in Bamenda town. First day gathered a
team impose by a baulker for business management, an auditor for checking finances, four teachers for teaching and
institution, two counsellors for spiritual and social advises, and a jurist for legal matter. They also mobilized devoted
members on the project despite the fact that every body didn't not promptly agree. They also collected the initial letters
from members. Then they launched the recruitment and more than 52 applications were submitted. The selection of
needy has been difficult but finally 52 applicants were taken in urange. After the training only 50% of them, this s 26,
were granted the initial capital because the funds were insufficient. The AI Christian has spent 1700000 CFAF in the
whole experience, 700000 CFAF being gift from well wisher persons and 1000000 CFAF being the contribution of the
members project that started in 2000 is on continuation.
COMMENTAIRES :
The AIDS International Christian women of vision has bring out something very essential through its project. It is the fact
that only training cannot solve the problem of unemployment. So should be put in please systems that will enable trained
people to start with incomes generating activities. The difficulty by this group the one show that there is a yelling need to
sustain these king of group.
