THE FINALISTS OF THE COMPETITION « CONTEMPORARY TALENTS 2014 »
International competition of Contemporary Art
The François Schneider foundation has for vocation to support the contemporary creation on
the theme of the water by the acquisition of works realized by artists whose talent is not
recognized yet. Every year the Foundation organizes the competition "Contemporary Talents" to
discover and acquire seven artists' works expressing himself in the field of visual arts.
To choose the prize-winners of the competition "Contemporary Talents 2014 ", four Experts'
Committees selected the works or the projects of 41 finalists among 744 candidate artists,
native of 63 countries distributed on 5 continents.
On May 29th of this year, Jean-Noël Jeanneney, President of the International Grand Jury, will
announce 7 prize-winners of the competition "Contemporary Talents". As every year, the
300 000-euro subsidy is distributed between 7 artists.

the Region Alsace (DRAC - Strasbourg).
Sophie KAPLAN, Director of “the Criée” of Rennes & Florence OSTENDE, Commissioner of
exhibition.
François HEBEL, Art director, Founder of Foto/Industria, Bologna & Agnès SIRE, Director of the
Henri Cartier Bresson Foundation.
Pierre-Marie EUDES, artistic Councillor & Auguste VONVILLE, cultural Director of the François
Schneider Foundation.
