Ron Petersen is a senior partner of McMillan's Ottawa office and
practices litigation/advocacy. He is also co-chair Ontario of the
Construction Law Group. He has been a partner with the firm
since 1999.

Ron is a senior litigator whose primary area of practice has been
Construction Law for 30 years. Ron handles very complex,
sensitive and extremely high profile cases which require a senior
level of expertise, competent trial management and forthright
presentation. He has acted for owners, mortgagees, general
contractors, property managers, sub-trades and suppliers.
Ron has conducted hundreds of trials, arbitrations and appeals.
He has an expertise in preparing and reviewing contracts, bonds
and other related documents. He has handled Occupational
Health and Safety disputes and environmental issues in
construction or remediation. His practice also encompasses
debtor / creditor, personal injury, estates and corporate law
issues.

Canada, leading a team in a delay claim dispute with multiple
parties. He is also acting for the Township of Russell on a
construction delay/defect claim.
He acted for Carleton University and Sisters of Charity in multimillion dollar delay claims. He is also acting for owners and subcontractors of construction defect claims.
Ron is presently advising on claims for damages involving
environmental spills. He is also acting on various real estate and
commercial disputes, estate litigation and catastrophic personal
